I had bought a 6 seater dining table and 6 seater sofa set from a
furniture mart at Kirti Nagar, Delhi in July this year and the total
amount is Rs. 80,000.

Right from day one, the quality of the wood and the finishing is
horrible and inspite of promising one year warranty period, the vendor
is not taking responsible. The chairs are shaking and about to break
anytime.

Inspite of repeated calls, he does not want to entertain. He says that
he had done his best and this is what he can do. Not even willing to
come and inspect the quality.

Can anything be done in this case.....

Whynot? Send a notice clearly mentioning the facts and the subsequent
issues.Demand him to replace it immediately of return the money.If nothing is
materialing within a fortnight,approach the CONSUMER COURT.It may take bit time
but some result can be expected.Preserve all the bills/vouchers etc.Keep a
record of your transactions. Goodluck.

Get the furniture examined by some expert & take a certificate from him in
writing stating the shortcomings. Preserve the bills of the furniture. In case
you don't have the bills, try to get them. In case you are strong on these two
counts, you may first give a legal notice and in case he doesn't respond, file a
complaint in the relevant consumer court.
