Same has happened with my 1.5 ton AC just after 2 years of usage. It started in the first year itself, AC used to suddenly stop working, temperature never came down, i.e, there was no cooling effect. We called them and after calling them almost every week they turnedup after almost one month and instead of diagonising the problem they were like AC is above the reach so its very difficult to bring it down and check, but they are not supposed to say this. However finally they came to the conclusion that there is some problem with the "heat Ex" this is the term they had used. For some1-2 hours they fixed the problem and went back. For few days the AC was fine but again its started giving problem, so had to use it very carefully. So this was the story of 1st year. Now in the 2nd summer, the problem began again there was no cooling from the AC, I felt there was some problem with the compressor and informed them at around the mid of April. They turned up aftermay be 2 weeks and when they checked the AC there was cooling and so we couldnt complain and they didnt even bother to open it up and have a look, they left after taking the service charge of Rs. 300+. Next day when we started the AC same problem, no cooling, so we had to again compalin them. This time after about 8-10 days when they arrived after so many calls(needless to say everytime we need to remind them by calling repeatedly),unfortunately when they arrived there was power cut, so they left. But just after 5 minutes of their leaving our home, power was back, so we called them immeditaely but they did not return and said would come later and verbally without even checking they said it was because of voltage fluctuation. So believing them we thought of buying a stabilizer and they told us we can purchase from them itself, so we called them and the reply was its hot summer end of April, and the work load is very high we cant go with the voltage stabilizer and check the AC with that. So this was the reply from our local godrej service center, its summer so they cant come but inspite of having an AC we need to suffer in hot summer. So I called to the toll free number and they again registered the complaint. After having called them almost once in 2 days, they finally arrived after a minimum period of 10 days. This time fortunately power was there and we had the stabilizer also, now after checking for almost 2-3 hours they came to the conclusion that there is some problem with the compressor, now they took away the compressor from us and promised of changing it within 7 days. So 7 days had gone I started calling them and finally after 20 days, that is today they told us they will be coming tomorrow and the total cost for compressor gas, service charge and capacitor would be around Rs2500. So I am eagrely waiting to see them tomorrow, today is 21st June and monsoon has already arrived, we have almost spent the summer without the AC.So this is the story of Godrej after sales service and I am almost worried that even after changing the compressor and paying them Rs 2500,the AC might not work from next day, of course if they come tomorrow. I am really hopeless and I feel like selling the AC in scrap shop.
