My complaint no. is DL0111023877. Today Engineer Mr. M. S. Ahmad visited our place. He had changed a spare part named 'Defrost Timer'. The M.R.P. written on the Packet was RS 299/- including all taxes. The Engineer was charging Rs 850/- for the above part. On our objection to the asked price he made us talk to a company official namely Shri Hardev who said that price is Rs 850. We told the engineer not to replace the part. After few minutes same company official called and told us to pay Rs 450. But on our refusal to do so the engineer took out the part and replaced the old one. When we contacted the Customer Care, the customer care executive talked to the engineer and later told us to wait for a call from the company office to clarify our doubts. Now we get a mere SMS telling that our complaint is closed as we refused to do the payment (which was actually the excess payment that we denied). We are not satisfied with the reply given by the customer care executive that they do not have control over the price of spare parts hence nothing can be done.
I want to know why we were asked to pay Rs 850 for a product with MRP Rs 299 in the first place and how was the price reduced to Rs 450 after 5 minutes. Secondly how can the company charge more than the printed MRP for a given product
? It should be noted that the packing of the above mentioned product has Dec 2010 printed on it which shows that it was not too old also so as to increase the price almost three times the printed cost.
