I had bought a 230 Liter 2-Door White Refrigerator Model No.GLT242GPD few years ago. About two months back, the Transperant Vegetable Box & its Cover-tray were cracked from many places.
When I called up the Helpline, I was told that a representative would visit our house to check the model for which they will charge Rs.330 as visit charges (The cost of the box and tray will be extra). I am shocked that the company charges for a self-fitting spare part.
When I told them that I can collect the Vegetable Box and Tray myself from the service centre to save the visit charge of Rs.330, I was given an address of Digital Care-Rajan Society, Naranpura, Ahmedabad. I have visited this service center after calling them thrice in last 2 months but everytime I visit them, they inform me to come back after 4 days since they cannot find these parts. When I call the helpline, they tell me that since this model is old now, there are no spare parts available easily.
The claims of customer satisfaction and prompt After Sales Service fall flat when it actually comes to delivering the end-user. The models selling today will definately become old few years later, does that mean that parts will not be available ?
There was no customer care reception or attendant at LG's Digital Care Service Centre which is located inside a old bungalow in Naranpura Area of Ahmedabad which has no chairs or fans for visitors and the computer operators are holed up in a room which is actually a kitchen where a maid was washing utensils and the whole area was strewn with filth and defected spare parts. LG should atleast appoint a customer friendly service centre. The behaviour of the service centre staff was very careless and rude. They kept telling me to come after few days.
Finally when I did not get any reply from their Ahmedabad service centres, I e-mailed this complaint on their customer care e-mail ID on 22nd September 2009. I received a reply that it will be sorted out but till date I e-mailed them 3 to 4 times but of no use. Assurances were given by the Noida Head Office representatives Aseem, Manpreet and the Ahmedabad Service Head Mr.Atul but till date I have not received any reply and they keep informing me that they will get back to me soon.
