Four months back i wanted to modify my CAR (Esteem 99-VX). I met a mechanic who is a local with a garage. Before even giving my car for further detailing i clearly informed him that i will give money every month (total cost was approximately Rs 60,000) and the mechanic promised me to give the car with entire work done in 10-20 days. I handed over my car to him on 06-06-11. Every now and then he asked me money i kept giving him. I never got my car completed as told. He kept delaying saying various reasons... like no person available, need to complete other pending works... however he dismantled my car so that i cannot even take it back into posession. Even after informing that i would need the car in 20 days and as well as that my marriage is on Oct '11 he never gave the car to me. Finally on 1st week on Oct i had to tow the car by the help of POPULAR MARUTHI SERVICE. The total amount which was billed by the Mechanic was Rs 89,000 when he finally billed me. The end result is i never got my car nor it was returned to me in running condition as was given to him. i have paid Rs. 45000 in cash on regular intervals and a check for Rs. 20000.

Without my personal car i have spent Rs 15000 and more on hire car during my marriage and to make my car in running condition it took another 10,000. Now he is coming back and asking for the remaining amount which as per my knowledge isnt worth for what he did. Please advice if i can file a case as the mechanic claims he will fill an FIR with the police.
