    Unhappy Issues with FDs - HDFC Bank

    Hello Forum,
    Request your advice in the below scenario and if am doing the right thing by filing a petition at the
    Hyderabad District Consumer Forum.

    Issues faced with 2 FDs I booked with HDFC, Barkaptura branch.

    1. In Nov-2008 I requested for 2 FDs amounting to Re. 6 lakhs to be booked @ 10.5 for 1yr 15 days but the FDs din't
    get booked until Dec-08. Due to this I am missing on an interest amount of about Re. 1500/-. When this issue was taken
    up with branch manager he orally promised to refund this money as a manual credit at the time of maturity which is
    18-Dec-2009.

    2. Out of the FD (for Re.5 lakhs) which matured on 18-Dec-2009 and got re-invested, I requested for breaking partially
    an amount of 1 lakh on 29-Dec-2009, and gave a hand written letter where the FD region was left blank as the branch manager
    told that he will fill it up. But the branch employee broke a wrong FD (for Re.1.95 laksh) in full amount which was
    supposed to mature on 15-Mar-2010. She has hand written the incorrect FD# herself in the region left blank.
    Due to which I am loosing an amount of Re. 5941.53/- (this includes TDS of Re. 966/-)

    3. The FD for Re. 5 lakhs which matured on 18-Dec-2009 got matured in an amount of 5,50,781.84/-
    instead of 5,57,143.00/- (as mentioned on the FD certificate). This is due to TDS amount, but I have requested
    for non-deduction of Tax and submitted form 15G at the time of booking the FDs back in Nov-2008.
    But now the branch says that no such forms were signed and they have not given me any acknowledgment receipt
    back then for the submission of 15G. The whole purpose of booking the FDs on my name being that I am a house wife
    and have no other source of income, which the branch manager is well aware of.

    When I took up all these issues with the branch manager on 01-Jan-2010 he promised that he will pay me back all the amount I lost in 3 installments within three weeks but nothing happend till today.

    I am planning to submit a petition in Consumer Court at the below address:

    Please advice if this is the right thing am doing and what best I can do in this situation to get my greiviances addressed. I spent a lot of time and energy chasing these issues and getting a resolution without any success.

    Ask banking personnel that you would bring this thing to RBI Cell and if they don't give you a wheightage go toReserve Bank of India - India's Central Bank & submit an application.

    No need to go to the consumer court
