I have been using Airtel services since Aug 2011. I had chosen a 12-month package and added 2 top-up packages. After about 3 months (9 months before expiry of my package), I began recieving messages that IF I DO NOT RECHARGE, my TV services would be disrupted, as THE BALANCE IS LOW.
On inquiring with the customer care, I found that
1. MY SERVICES WOULD CONTINUE IF I EITHER STOPPED THE TOP-UP PACKAGES, OR RECHARGED FOR EXTRA CHARGES DUE TO THEM.
2. ALL MY SERVICES (PLS NOTE - NOT TOP-UP PACKAGES ONLY) WOULD DISCONTINUE, IF I DID NOT RECHARGE IMMEDIATELY.
When I have paid in advance for the whole year, why should I be devoid of watching all the other channels?
I would have appreciated, if the channels in the top up package were discontinued.
AIRTEL can well stop my top-up packages, but why the rest, for which I have already paid? Besides,
very magnimously, AIRTEL gives me 3 daysto recharge, after which I have to pay reconnecting charges!
IS THIS NOT ARM-TWISTING?
IS THIS NOT A CUSTOMER-UNFRIENDLY APPROACH?
