    Smile Tata sky -- Not yet attended my request.

    This is a posting from Bangalore.

    I gave a request to Tata Sky on 18th Feb 11 for carrying out installation at my new residence since I had shifted a couple of days prior to 18th Feb 11. I was told by the Call center executive that the request would be attended within 48 hours and further, within 24 hours, I would receive a call from the Tata Sky technician confirming the nearest landmark to my residence.

    Nothing happened till 20th Feb 11 and neither did anyone call up. So, I called up Tata Sky again and I was given a Complaint number 1-9250094168 and I got two calls from their Hyderabad Office assuring me that a Technician was being deputed on priority and that someone from Bangalore Service Team would call me. After much follow up, I got an automated message from Tata sky confirming that the call would be attended on 25thFeb 11 at 14.00 hrs and there was a number of a service team 9742202852 which I could contact. I have since tried the service teams number several times ( honestly, lost count) and either it is busy or simply rings without the receiver responding. In the interim period, I have escalated the call thrice and every time. there would a floor supervisor (of the back office) who would call me up to say a zillion sorries ( such a poorly used word this "sorry" is !!)

    in the meanwhile, since I desired to have documentary proof, I registered the complaint on Tata Sky's website and I got an automated web based acknowledgement that the complaint would be attended by 24th Feb 11, 12.08 pm. Even this timeline has passed by and there is no sight or sound of Tata Sky technician. As i write this emaiil to you, I demanded an escalation of the call to a senior Tata sky person and I was told by the Customer Service Agent that they were not supposed to share the number And then she went on to tell me that the systems are down and hence she is not able to view my complaint log ( another reason that is being given regularly by Tata Sky-- our systems are down, please call back after 1 hour, 2 hours etc !!).

    If I were a potential customer, requiring a new Tata Sky connection, I am sure the entire Blore office would have run across to service me in less that 4 hours or even faster !! But this type of poor customer service, and no care for customer, does not behove of the TATA name !! ( Incidentally, I find this "epidemic" even with Tata Indicom phone-- I feel unfortunate to be a Tata Subscriber ??).

    I hope that this saga reaches the right person at Tata Sky, a person, who is senior, responsible and Customer Centric, who not only has the power, but also the will to act.

    In this case legal direction are required by appropriate authorities to solve your this problem along with compensation for your unnecessary harassment.
