Organisers of a planned concert in Munich's Olympic stadium have resigned in the latest incident involving the 2006 World Cup cultural events.

The three men reportedly ended their work because they were personally attacked in the media reports in connection with other problems around events in connection with the World Cup.

The concert was to bring together Munich's big three symphony orchestras.

Earlier, a planned football musical was scrapped and an upcoming football congress is creating far less interest than expected.

As a result, the Bavarian government of Edmund Stoiber is under attack for mismanagement, with the Green party claiming that 1 million euros alone were wasted on the congress.
