Arsenal superstar Thierry Henry might temporarily take off his football boots for a role in Spike Lee's new film "The Inside Man".

The French national will star alongside two-time Oscar winners Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster and Oscar-nominated Clive Owen in the film, states Annanova.com.

The acclaimed black director of such films as "Malcolm X", "Do the Right Thing", and the recent "The 24th Hour" and the footballer are good friends, reports The Mirror.

Spike Lee says Thierry's "smouldering good looks and charisma" bode well for a career in Hollywood.

The legendary filmmaker has often been sighted seated with the Frenchman's entourage at matches.

Spike's biographer Kaleem Aftab said: "Spike reckons Thierry has the talent and charisma to be a star. I have seen them together and it is just like a couple of kids fooling around."
