Italian soccer giants AC Milan have refused a request by English Premier League champions Chelsea for transferring to them their star Ukrainian striker Andriv Shevchenko.
The Italian club's vice-president Adriano Galliani confirmed that they were not prepared to give the Ukrainian.
"Chelsea made a request for Shevchenko, but the answer is no. Andriv Shevchenko is not on the move," Galliani was quoted as saying by the club's official website AC MILAN - Sito Ufficiale - Official Website.
This is the second summer in a row that football's biggest spenders have sought the services of the Ukrainian hit man and have been turned down.
Galliani also indicated that Chelsea's bid to sign defender Kakha Kaladzhe from them is far from certain.
"[Kakha] Kaladze remains at Milan at this stage of things, we have not reached yet an agreement with Chelsea, though the relationship is still excellent," he said.
"It is a commercial negotiation and it is normal that each club cares for their own interest," he said indicating that Chelsea's bid was yet to meet the expectations of the champions league runner up's.
