India's K. Hariharan is among the 12 umpires who will officiate at the ICC (International Cricket Council) Trophy in Ireland next month.

Five teams will qualify for the 2007 World Cup from this 12-nation tournament that will be played July 1-13.

Apart from Hariharan, Kevan Barbour and Tony Hill of New Zealand, Billy Doctrove of the West Indies, Asad Rauf of Pakistan, and Asoka de Silva of Sri Lanka will be among the ICC International Panel members who will officiate, the ICC said in a statement here Friday.

The other six umpires will be from the ICC Associate and Affiliate Panel, the group that comprises officials from ICC affiliate member countries.

They are: Roger Dill from Bermuda, Trevor Henry from Ireland, Subash Modi from Kenya, Sarika Prasad from Singapore, Buddhi Pradhan from Nepal and Shahul Hameed from Indonesia.

"This tournament is a good opportunity for members of both the International Panel and the Associates and Affiliates Panel to gain experience by officiating overseas in conditions that will be unfamiliar to many of them," said ICC's general manager (cricket) David Richardson.

"It will give the umpires an opportunity to demonstrate their ability and stake a claim for further international appointments," he added.
