Sehwag inaugurates cricket academy Top batsman Virender Sehwag Wednesday lauded the efforts of Delhi Public School after opening its Howzzat Cricket Academy here.
"It is indeed a good effort. The facilities are good and although the ground is not big, it is okay for school kids," Sehwag told after inaugurating the academy.
Sehwag, who has been picked in the initial Test and one-day squads of a World XI by the International Cricket Council (ICC), was accompanied by Yuvraj Singh.
They bowled a few deliveries to each other to mark the opening of the academy.
Dressed in a pink T-shirt and jeans, Sehwag was warmly welcomed by the students and their parents.
The spadework for the academy has been done by Sehwag's former Delhi teammate Gautam Vadhera and former Punjab and Himachal Pradesh batsman Amit Sharma.
Initially, only the students of the school would train for a fee at the academy.
For students up to 10 years of age, a monthly fee of Rs.750 would be charged. Those above 10 years would have to pay Rs.850.
Besides, the trainees would have to deposit an admission fee of Rs.1,000.
Later, boys from outside the school could be admitted.
Sehwag, enjoying a rare few months' rest from international cricket, has been picked by the ICC in its two 30-member World XI squads that will play against world champions Australia a six-day Super Test and three one-day internationals in Australia in October.

hi sehwag sir, my name is siva kumar and i 'm from andhra pradesh,my parents not encouraging me..i 'm allrounder sir age 22 right arm pace bowler and spinner also off break and even i can bat agressively with gud timing..but my foot work is very poor..i have to improve my skills..plz give me 2 chances sir..i like cricket,i love cricket,my breath is cricket..i can live without food but i can't live without cricket..please give me a chance sir...even i 'm good mid on fielder also
