The Centre for Media Studies (CMS) has entered into a collaboration with a premier media institute in the US to share experiences in research studies in media and communication.

The collaboration between CMS and the Annenberg School of Communication of the University of Southern California University (USC ASC) aims at exploring opportunities for professional development, said a statement from CMS Wednesday.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Los Angeles by N. Bhaskara Rao, chairman of CMS, and Dean Geoffrey Cowan, from USC ASC. The collaboration, for the first time, brings together a premier Indian research institute and a leading US university specialising in media and communication studies.

USC-ASC has similar arrangement in Britain with the London School of Economics.

While CMS is engaged in multidisciplinary research in India with emphasis on communication and social development, USC ASC offers opportunities for hands-on study in media and communication and also provides access to leading professionals worldwide.
