The Discovery Channel will air its top 10 programmes from Oct 10 to 19 to commemorate the completion of 10 years of telecast in India.

The celebration series, named "10 Years of Discovery", will have episodes ranging from Julius Caesar's murder to Cleopatra's palace.

During the decade, the channel has seen the introduction of a Hindi feed and the launch of the 'Discover India' series.

The channel also plans to commission programmes from India.

"For the first time, we will commission programmes from India," Discovery's brand director Raja Balasubramanian told reporters Thursday.

"The programmes to be commissioned from early next year will be India-centric, but with a universal appeal," he added.
