India's latest tennis sensation Sania Mirza has moved up 34 points to perch at a career-best 132 in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tour rankings after her Australian Open performance.

The 18-year-old collected 34 points to reach the third round of the Melbourne tournament, jumping from her pre-tournament ranking of 166 to 132, according to the rankings released by the WTA.

Sania eventually lost to Serena Williams of the US in the first Grand Slam of the year.
