Hello HDFC,
This is to inform you that I bought a new cellular phone from a Shop keeper at Chembur (Orbit Communications) in July. The MRP of the Cell phone was Rs.7700/-. But the Shop keeper charged me Rs.231/- extra (i.e 3% on MRP) stating that these are Bank Charges and should be beared by the Customer. I argued with him as I was not having a prior intimation about this nor was I having any idea. Atlast I ended up paying him as I was in need of a cellular phone urgently.
Can you please let me know whether this charges are legal or should be beared by the Customers. If it is not then can HDFC issue a notice to the Shop keepers or their customers on this. It will be very much helpful.

I have done shopping using my credit card and debit cards as well. But i have never paid anything extra (unless it's service tax & it'll be mentioned in the reciept).
I guess you have paid Rs.231/- more
