Unhappy with the grave power situation in the state, Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda has sacked state electricity board chief H.B. Lal and two other members.
At a meeting of Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB) officials Wednesday, Munda asked Lal to put in his papers for his failure to take steps to improve the situation. The sacked board members are S.N. Akhori and K.P. Sinha.
Chief Secretary P.P. Sharma has been given charge of the electricity board.
The power situation in the state has gone from bad to worse during the last week with power cuts of more than eight hours a day. The state government has already announced its decision to divide JSEB into four units from Nov 15 as the board was incurring heavy losses.
