Dear Sir,
I had subscribed to 2 magazines from the “Indiatimes ” site, in May this
year.
I had sent a DD in favour of “Times Internet Ltd”, New Delhi, dated May 6th,
2005 for Rs. 7040/- payable at ICICI bank, New Delhi.
Both of these magazines were meant to be sent as gifts to my sister’s
children. While one magazine , i.e., “Electronics for You”, was sent to the
giftee; the other more expensive one ,worth Rs. 6540/-, has not yet been
delivered. So, apart from losing Rs. 6540/- and 7 months of interest on the
amount, I have more importantly lost face and honour.
I have proof of receipt of the said amount by “Times Internet Ltd”, sent to me
by e- mail.
I also have proof of correspondence by e- mail to orderstatus@...,
regarding non – receipt of the magazine, the contact persons were Ms. Neha
Mahajan and Mr. Rajesh Thor.
Additionally, last week I had sent a reminder to the above company at their
address: store.indiatimes.com/feedback/PlanetMFeeedback.jsp; where I sought an
explanation for their faux pas within 24 hrs failing which I would take up the
matter with the Consumer Affairs Forum -even then, they have preferred to ignore
me and haven’t even had the courtesy to reply to my query.
Consequently, I have lodged a complaint to the Consumer Online Resource &
Empowerment Centre, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, on Dec. 2, 2005,on their
helpline 1600 -11-4000. My complaint number is 35926. They have advised me to
once again write to the “Times Internet Ltd” company and give them 7 days to
rectify their gross misdemeanor: after which appropriate action can be
initiated.
