Lets get started..
Okay, after a pathetic experience with DISHTV customer care, its sales department as well as service department, and a prolonged wait of over 4 days after booking the connection ( booking date: 3rd June ), Actual Connection: 7 June ( whoa!! over the phone, customer care promises a connection within 6 hours !! All I can say is -- BLOODY LIARS!! ), I got a DISHTV connection for my new LG 55" (55LM6200) 3D TV, which I recently got from the US. It's an NTSC TV, the reason for which I had to get a DTH connection.
Okay, now most of the acquaintances ( who happened to know about this incidence since I Didn't go OUT of my home for 4 days, waiting for those lousy DISHTV field boys to come and install the connection ) , asked me, "WHY ON EARTH DID YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT CHOOSING DISHTV?" I refuted their comments, saying -- "WHY?" , "BECAUSE THEY ARE GIVING 40 HD Channels".
Now, little did I know this was the lamest answer I ever gave. 40 HD Channels do not even exist in India. Only a handful ( a dozen, or maybe 15) of HD channels are available.
SO LETS SUMMARIZE THE LIES SO FAR, on DISHTV'S PART:
1. 40 HD CHANNELS DO NOT , I REPEAT, DO NOT EXIST. ONLY 3-4 CHANNELS COME IN ACTUAL HD QUALITY, REST ARE JUST AS GOOD AS SD.
My Comments: Their representative over the phone swore about "HD CHANNELS AS PER INTERNATIONAL QUALITY STANDARDS"
2. FOR 3 CONSECUTIVE DAYS (after booking the connection), THEIR CUSTOMER CARE & SALES DEPARTMENT KEPT TELLING ME -- "SIR, WE CALLED YOU, BUT YOU DID NOT PICK THE CALL".
My Comments: I was like What The F*** ? Who called me? Nobody ever called me. These bastards were giving just a lame excuse, since it seems that they didn't have adequate staff for installation.
3. The picture quality of their SD channels is worse than what my cable connection was giving.
4. THEY TOLD ME ABOUT A SERVICE CALLED MOVIE-ON-DEMAND ( 16 MOVIES PER MONTH FOR 35 RS. ).
My Comments: It is just a channel which keeps broadcasting the same movie over and over ( DISHTV's choice of movie, NOT THE CUSTOMER'S CHOICE OF MOVIE!! YAY!! NOW THIS SERVICE IS WRONGLY NAMED. BLOODY DECEIVERS
5. NOW I'M JUST 2 DAYS FAR INTO THEIR CONNECTION, AND VOILA!! MORE THAN HALF OF MY CHANNELS HAVE DISAPPEARED!!
My Comments: Called their customer care, which ALWAYS BEHAVES AS IF THE CUSTOMER IS TO BLAME. Told me that "SIR, YOU SUBSCRIBED TO HD WORLD PACK, AND NOT THE ROYALE PACK". I was like DISHTV.. why don't all of you just burn in hell ( i didn't say this to their so-called-customer-representative though, lol ). Their rep added, "WE GIVE ALL CHANNELS FOR 2 DAYS, AFTER WHICH WE START YOUR REGULAR PACK "
Now, they have asked me to email their customer care. So here's how my email goes ( its a bit cheeky, i agree )

Subject: Not getting channels as per subscribed Royale Pack : VC No: 01515597312
I subscribed for a Royale Pack against VC No: 01515597312, and suddenly today, stopped getting most of the channels.
I have been informed by Customer Care that the "your records" indicated that I have subscribed to the world pack.
Kindly stop this harassment and correct my plan to the Royale Pack, to which I subscribed to ASAP, to prevent any further actions from the consumer court. PLEASE DO NO TRY TO DELAY. I HAVE ALREADY BEEN HARASSED A LOT BY DISH TV, ITS CUSTOMER CARE AND ASSOCIATES AT THE TIME I TOOK THE CONNECTION. I DO NOT WANT ANY FURTHER HARASSMENT.
IF YOU CANNOT PROVIDE WHAT YOU PROMISE, KINDLY REFUND MY ENTIRE AMOUNT OF 2290RS. AND TAKE YOUR EQUIPMENT AWAY FROM MY HOME.
