    Default Airtel DTH after sales service

    Hi,

    I bought Airtel DTH connection in Bangalore and recently i shifted to Chennai and raised a re installation request at Airtel to setup my DTH connection on 24TH JAN'12 in Chennai. The CSE took my address and committed that on 26TH JAN'12 by 11:30am the engineer will come to fix my DTH. On 25TH morning i received a message from Airtel that my problem has been resolved and the call has been closed and then i received a couple of calls from Airtel asking for the feedback where i told them that the setup is scheduled for 26TH and how come they closed my ticket without my approval and without providing me with the solution. On 26TH morning at 9:30am the engineer called me to locate the address and promised to come by 11:30am as committed but to my distress they never came and i kept on calling them and they kept on avoiding and ignoring my phone calls till 7:00pm beyond that they started cutting / declining my calls. At ~8:00pm i started calling the Customer Care and those people kept me waiting for even more than 20 mins per call and they kept on saying that we are facing technical glitch and we apologize for the inconvenience as we are unable to update your address in our data base (Sounds like we are sorry for the inconvenience but it is our way to penalize and harass our customers for buying our product and services). I spared more than 1000Rs on giving calls to these people and these people kept on promising that within 4-6hrs of this call, i will receive their service and even the people in the escalation department said the same. The annoying part was every one asked for my new address and still it was not updated in their database. I wonder why they say at the beginning of the call - "This call may be recorded for the quality purpose." What is the sense of recording the call if you want the customer to repeat the same 100s of times as if police for verification records the statement of a person but not this many times. Imagine i have given my address details to them more then 50 times. Yesterday some body from their CSE team said that they just found that the person who lodged the complaint has mentioned Bangalore instead of Chennai. I don't understand how dumb will the person be who can't depict the city change from the area pin code? Where is the quality? Today even a small company uses such kind of applications which before feeding its database, checks for the quality of data inserted and which tells the person about the area the pin code has been entered for. While buying their service, this happened when i told my pin code to be 34 instead of 36 and then these guys corrected me. Where are those systems gone? Pre-sale, these people show how competent they are but post sales, they have a small unit to handle customer out burst and keep the phone aside. And today on 28TH JAN'12 they replied sir, we are sorry for the inconvenience but now we ensure that max by 6:30 your DTH will be re-installed, around 4:00 i received a call from an engineer and he asked me for my address to visit and when i told him about my area he said sir i never heard of this area in Bangalore and i corrected him by saying again that it is in Chennai. Now i wanted Airtel service to re install my DTH and also, i should be compensated as i have spared more than 1000Rs in calling them because Airtel is the only network where you get charged for calling their CSE's also, i have sacrificed my two holidays and 3 working days for this.
