I purchased a TATA Sky, the problem which i am facing is that it stops working in rainy season, but otherwise its working good. :cool:
This is a common problem with DTH services providers they are reducing charges
for connection , giving some free subscription & then charging very heavily
after the intial free period is over.
Zee's Dish TV keeps on adding & deleting channels at will too. The problem is
because there are only 2~3 players & they operate like an oligoply.
You probably have no proof & as issue is minor it may not be worth taking
them to court.
I faced even worse problems with Zee's Dish . The remote & the Set top box
kept on breaking down & they refused to send a technician to my home saying it
was too far , 25 kms from city center.
My case is now with Consumer Court , Bangalore .

Respected Sir,
I am Chandan Kumar working in
NTPC as an Engineer and living outside my home. I am using Tata Sky service at
my home. From last two-week Tata Sky services are not available. After getting
information about this problem from home, I called Tata Sky customer care on
15th august 2009 and complain about this problem. She guides me to resolve the
problem for about 45 minutes but problem was not solved, then she took complain.
I got call back after 3hour for Engineer visit but after getting my house
location, he refused to handle my problem for that day and said that he would
come on next day.. On 16th august, I was waiting for him, but he could not come.
I again called the Engineer but again got same reply, he would come to solve my
problem on Tuesday (18 august). After getting this message, I again called
customer care and describe my problem. She again took my new complain. I got
call back form Tata Sky, during that call Engineer advised me to rotate the
antenna. I rotated the antenna during that processes call was disconnected. I
tried a lot but unable to resolve the problem. After that I tried to call the
Engineer but either his cell was switch off or he was not receiving my call.
On next day I went to my job in NTPC Barh, Patna. I called
Tata Sky more than 10times but got nothing till now and even without visiting
my home they closed my complain request. I requested to the customer care to
give me the detail of their employ, who closed my request without proper
service, but he refused to provide me such information. On 20th of
august, I again called customer care, asked about my problem, and demanded
action against such employ. However, I could not get any such action detail. In
the evening, I got a call from Engineer, he suggested me to call the Engineer
not to the customer care. I asked him to please call your Engineers and then
see whether their cell is on. He called four or five Engineer but either their
cell is off or they could not receive the call. He finally promised to solve
my problem on next day. I am facing the same problem till now.
During this whole process I suffered a lot of mental and
financial (call to customer care) problem. Now I am confused what to do so; I
request you please do the required action as applicable.

Yesterday i wrote a complaint at help@tatasky.com regarding the unproffesional attitude of call centre ; the copy of the complaint is given below.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am those early customers of tata sky.We have two connections for which Rs 550/- is charged from us.My account no is 1000303054
On 28 june 09 i recharged my account by Rs 2000/-. Next day i.e. on 29 june 09 I got a call from Tata Sky call centre,informing me that since I have recharged my coupon by Rs 2000 , so they have vaildated my account by 6 months.I agreed happily thinking that I am getting good discount.I have not been told of any terms and condition regading the "proposed discount".
On 19 Aug 09 , I am getting message on my tata sky to recharge the account immidiately. On the morning of 20 aug 09 I called on the customer care no from my mobile no 9654450198 and enquired about the problem since i was under the impression that I dont have to recharge my account for six months.I was told that only one of my set box has been recharged for six months but for other set top box and for other Gold package i have to recharge . In was shocked to hear this and complained that I was not fully informed about the plan and asked him to change the plan to the previous one where my Rs 550/- is deducted from my account . But he expressed his disability in doing so as it is already fed ionto the software and it could not be changed .But when I insisted ,his boss Ms Kajal spoke to me that they would go through the recorded conversation I had with the tata sky executive on 29 june 09 and if they found sufficient evidence that whole plan was not informed to me they would change the plan to the previous one
(where my Rs 550/- is deducted from my account) and would informed me accordingly on my mobile no 9654450198.Following day I left for delhi and returned on 23 Aug 09. In between I got no call from tata sky call centre.
On reaching my residence on 23 aug 09 , my father informed me that thjey are getting anything on 2nd set top box. I immidiately rang the tata sky call centre from my mobile no 9311624545and it was answered by Ms Sweta I anglilly explained the problem , after holding the line for 10 minuted she informed me that next day i would get a call from tata sky call centre and my plan would be changed to the previous one.
A week has passed since then I am yet to get a call worse even in the first connection all those life style gold channel has been disconnected.I am suffering for no fault of mine.It is a shame that company of such repute has got such unproffesinal call centre executive who just give false committment .
Sir/Madam , if my complain is not addressed satisfactorily , then I am not going to recharge a single Rs and also I am going to change to other connection.

Dear Sir,
I am a subscriber of Tatasky for over 2 years. Around one month
back I purchased Tata Sky+ from them for Rs 5000. It worked for only 15-20
days & then the set top box hung. It has been 12 days & there has been no
solution from their side. Initially they used to say they will replace in
one day but now they are saying it is out of stock & dont know when they
will be able to replace. I want a suitable compensation & penalty for their
unprofessional behaviour & also for the fact that have been unable to watch
my shows for last 12 days.
Please see to it that they are punished severely.

This is really a horrible horrible situation. So said executives are just sitting folding their hands and nothing is being done...........i have made a complaint for the rectification of my tata sky connection. Since last 4 days there is no connection or signal on my tata sky.
But you guys are just sitting hand in hand. Its simply ridiculous..........!!!

very nicely. i have talk your customers executive .he said that we are coming in your home with in 24 hours but no person coming in my house so i am very upset of your service.there has been no

From last 10 days i lodged my complaint almost 20 times at your mail, call centre just to change the location of dish antenna in nearby building as I shifted to new house.
Every day I receive a call but no action. I have never seen in my life such a USELESS, PATHETIC, UNPROFESSIONAL Service provider that too from a Group like TATA.
People without ears & eyes are sitting & just killing time without any heed on customer request.
Kuch to Sharam karo besharmo, ab to jaag jao.
I want my total recharge money back from the date of my 1st complaint and bugger "apne deebe utha ke le jao" I will shift to some other DTH service provider.
TATA SKY is the Most Third Class company of TATA Group. I have lost total faith in this group.
i lodged a complaint regarding faulty set-top box. I was promised to replace the same within 48 hrs. Its more than 5 days but none has come to my residence so far. Delhi office people either dont pick up the phone or disconnect the call. Would someone responsible from tata sky pay attention to my problem ?
