Hi,

As the subject suggests, I wanted to highlight an interesting issue which my
parents faced today with my local cable operator.

For the past 2 weeks, my cable operator isnt broadcasting a marathi movies
channel "Zee 24 taas". When they checked up with my cable operator, he said
that the channel has been moved to the Conditional Access System (CAS) which
has been made available as an option. The marketing ploy is to push an
unwilling consumer towards the CAS system.

When my dad argued about the fact that in the state of Maharashtra, marathi
channels should be provided for viewing without any problems. The operator
responded very rudely.

See the problem which is constantly seen here is that Cable Operator
monopoly is a major issue which often goes unnoticed due to the way in which
it is executed. If I am paying for the channels then I should be allowed to
view them. The cable operator cannot decide which channels should be
available through set top box and which should be available through normal
cable lines.

Can you help me in this matter? I am tired of these thugs operating a very
corrupt system.
