    Default Airtel DTH DVR Dysfunctional

    Dear Consumer Forum,
    I like to check if I have a case to go to consumer court. I bought an Airtel DTH DVR box connection 2 months back. I faced issues during installation and 1 week after installation started having issues with the DVR box. The recording did not work number of times & I keep getting installation setup screen errors. Sometimes the box hangs and does not respond. I have to keep restarting the box to get it functional. I complained couple of times. The first time, the engineer reset the box and said if it happened next time, then they would replace the box. The second time I complained, no one came and the complaint was closed. The third time I complained, they said they would send the replacement box instead send a 17 year old engineer who did not know anything who came and reset the box and left. The fourth complaint no one came and finally I called up the nodal officer (Arun Kumar G - Bangalore) number. The people on the phone were not willing to connect me to the nodal officer instead transferred me to some vendor who hung up on me and later created another complaint number. Do I have a case? What should I do as the next step? Do I require any data to prove the box is dysfunctional?

    Thumbs down Thanks but no thanks...

    Thanks and No Thanks to Airtel for the support. I keep getting the feeling your head and tail cannot work together. Your guys came in and replaced the box (thanks to this forum) and walked out saying it would take 4 hours for this to get working. I was surprised to hear that since my installation did not take more than an hour and did not need 4 hours for it start working. So for the last 18+ hours the setup box is not working (no channels available) and I have called up your support center and yesterday night and they said they would resolve it 30 mts and Its 12+ hours counting with no resolution. What do I say? Replaced the box with another defective box? Do people need to suffer like this?

    Thumbs down Airtel DTH Dont ever try it!!!

    3rd day running now without any cable after Mr Airtel Precsene intervened and got the box replaced. I have made atleast 5 calls to their customer 'devils' (not care anymore). Nothing happened. 5 Heavy refreshs, 2 promises to call back in 2 hours which never happened and 2 promises to send somebody and they never coming. And to add to it, the 'devil' (not customer service) cut me twice when I called them.

    I thought I was a one of instance and dont think so after having made atleast 20 calls in the last 2 months. I should have relied on my earlier DTH connection, when I have not made one call for service issues.

    My customer id is 3009004637 for airtel dth ...... My advice for people seeking new DTH Connection :- Never Ever Book an Airtel DTH. The Customer Service team is totally worst, fraud and if you contact them with any DTH complaints, they will just disconnect the call. You will be totally locked if you book an early connection. Please be aware. Airtel Presence team is totally worst and they just cut copy paste the formated text to all queries.
