Airtel DTH - SM2 Error

    Angry Airtel DTH - SM2 Error

    My customer id is 3006965672

    Since this morning, I have lost signal in my Airtel DTH and have been trying to get a call through to the customer service representative. At around 3 PM, I was able to get through and was told it would be solved in 1 hr. Since then, it has not been fixed so I have been trying to get through to their customer service for the last hour, but get disconnected every-time I reach their representative.

    I have emailed airtelpresence@airtel.in, but have not even received an acknowledgement email.

    Apparently, I am not alone in this issue and apparently quite a lot of them have been having the same issue for weeks now.

    To add on to the earlier issue, now everytime I call, I never get to reach customer service rep at all. It auto disconnects every single time I try from my registered mobile number.
    They look to have added my number to some sort of "block" registry that they maintain.

    This sort of behaviour is UNACCEPTABLE. Cant understand how these people are allowed to be in business with such bad business practices.

    Thanks. I was able to get through to customer service, got a complain number finally after 6 hrs of trying.
    Contacted a local engineer with the complain number and he came and got it resolved.
    You can consider this request closed.

    Angry SM2 error code

    I've the same problem. SM2...apparently, SM stands for Satellite Migration!!!

    Now, the funny thing is, if Airtel knows that SM is going to happen, why can't they inform us first? This is not a one-off case. I have faced 2 problems with Airtel in the past. All were due to adhoc policy changes, like pricing, done without prior intimation.

    Two weeks back, I had to complain 6 times to get their service engineer to chage my STB. And yes, Airtel does have a method of BLOCKING customers. Any customer who calls twice or more in a day, is BANNED from reaching customer care. So much for "Dil jo chahe, paas laye"!!!

    So, please don't believe that they will resolve the problem fast. Sometimes, I feel I am dealing with ignorant idiots who do not know the spelling of customer!!

    My friendly advice is - DO NOT BUY AIRTEL DTH

    Angry Cust ID - 3001046940 / SM2 error code / Complaint # 6550434

    Dear Rakesh,

    My customer ID is 3001046940. You can find out my RMN from the cust id.

    My TV is not working for two days due to SM2. I have registered a complaint 6550434 and Mr. Ganesh in the escalation team told me that it will be rectified on a high priority basis.

    But, no one will repair it before the world cup final (I am confident of the ineffecieny of the Airtel service engineering service team AARR services who take care of my area) Last time, when India was playing West Indies, the service engineer did not come after 6 complaints!!! Tomorrow is the world cup final, and therefore NO service engineer will come to rectify the problem. I am confident of it.

    So, I want to tell you that tomorrow (2nd April) morning, I've requested a local dealer to install TATA SKY PLUS by 11:30 a.m. He has agreed to do it. I don't mind paying him Rs 4500. But I cannot take the pain of the poor service given by Airtel.

    This is the 4th time that this has happened to me this financial year!!! When the customer service team guys says "we are sorry for the inconvenience", all I can say is "I am sorry for choosing Airtel DTH".

    If you want to rectify your problem, do it fast. I want to watch the world cup finals tomorrow.

    your time is UP. i am throwing out the dish and the STB. I am installing tata sky plus.

    Like every on on this forum, i m getting his annoying SM2 Error code... If u cant resolve this issue on my installation and can show no chanel , then why the hell do you detect my balance from my account.
    I advice ppl to not buy airtel DTH

    SM2 error since 'dish alignment' and software installation. Totally uselss call center, around 5 attempts has resulted in NOTHING.
