    Angry Dish tv hd is forcing hd set top box customers to pay for all channels without choice

    Respected sir,

    i received a dish tv hd set top box with vc number 01513277617 with samsung lcd tv for rs. 750 in a combo offer on 11 march 2011. Not only did dish tv spent 6 days to install stb against the stipulated time of 72 hrs, i have also learnt from company customer care that it is c0mpulsory for all hd set top box (stb) owners to subscribe to platinum pack + hd pack only. This is to be noted that platinum pack is the most expensive pack of the company and contains all the channels available with dish tv. In a way , the viewers are being forced to pay and view channels against their will in the name of quality services.

    It is also to be noted that other leading dth service providers are giving fullest of choice to their customers. Even dish tv has many customized packs for customers with normal stb, but it is openly exploiting customers with hd stb. My present subscription will last for 45 days and after that i will have to spend approx. Rs 410 to view many channels i do not like, per month. I have seen similar complaints against dish tv on blog sites, from all over india.

    I there fo0re request your kind self to help me counter this exploitation with your bold action and advice

    DISH TV the worst nightmare as on 2nd July, 2011

    I have a dish TV connection with me since last couple of years. There was no complaint in services since then. But this year is full of complaints. We have called their engineer for aligning the disk in the month of February 2011. To our shock the engineer first told us the problem is not from dish but of the set top box, then of the wire , then of the LNB then of the dish. We requested him to leave, and again requested DISH TV to send in some qualified engineer. Again the person came, fiddled around with DISH and no help. Finally a gentleman came from dish TV who aligned the dish in 5 minutes. All was working fine till about a month when we had to call the engineer again.

    Last 4 months we have called the engineers every month, and every month it gets out of alignment.

    I again recharged the last Saturday 02/07/200 with RS.700/- and discovered the dish is not working. I have been calling them again and again, speaking with different person at all times
    -> Every time i meet a new person and have to narrate the story all over again
    -> They put me on hold with nothing happening
    -> They offer to call back, bu i never got any call back
    -> When i do get lucky to reach so called senior - he request for 24 hours for my resolution (Nothing happening - their 24 hours has expanded to 8 days so far and i dont know how long it would go)
    -> They wont return my money (Have said it clearly)
    -> They are incapable to offer service
    -> You waste minimum 1 hour daily calling them up and waiting anxiously for the reply.
    -> Their so called engineers are not qualified and would exploit you of your ignorance/ lack of knowledge, by offering you to replace dish, or wire, or connectors or LNB or whatever.
    -> They have no identification with them and can pose a serious threat to your family/ house, because the enter your premises.
    -> They have no proper equipment to align the dish - maybe a set top box from Door Darshan (DD) to align your disk.
    -> The way the handle your delicate equipment like LCD, cables, other attached equipments etc. would surely make other equipment losses including scratches, malfunctioning etc.
    -> They wont explain the problem or what they did with your complaint - they wont explain the resolution. At the best they can offer you AMC of the dish.




    TO CONCLUDE
    DISHTV is pure waste of money with no services.
    A kiryana store in the neighborhood can give you better services.


    I can only say that that i want my money returned for no services offered.

    I have been writing them emails, all they do is give me a reference ID and an assurance to get back to me soon. I am waiting and waitimg.So her I am reaing my voice and telling the world about the exploitation of the of the customers by DISH TV. I am using this forum to see in such hard words that i am totally fedup with the company (Pure Pain In The Neck).

    This way all their customers would run and what they would say is Wished We had Better Services And then we had more customers.
