    Default Airtel DTH

I had taken Airtel DTH connection and subscribed to South Value Package for 1 year, paying Rs 2000/- for a year.

I had activated top up packages Hindi Plus & Neo Plus on Airtel DTH. As per the information I received from customer care, the packages were charged on a pro-rata basis and if i de-activate the package at any time, the charges, as applicable till that date (pro-rata) would be levied on me.

The Airtel DTH website showed that Star Gold will be available in the Hindi Plus package, as shown in the image attached. But even after a month of activating the package I was not able to view the channel. Each time I contacted customer care I was told to do multiple checks like restarting my set top box, leaving it on for 2 hours etc. After all this this I was not able to view the channel. Finally after 3 weeks I was told Start Gold was replaced by Star Plus in the package. However, Star Plus was already part of the basic package I had taken. So what is the value in providing this in the top up? Also, customer service says that the South Value pack(basic package) is no longer available. I left it at this.

Today when I called up Airtel to de-activate Neo Plus I am told that I would be charged till 26th of April as it is not a pro-rata basis but monthly billing cycle. Since this is not the information I was given initially I wanted to talk to a senior personnel about the same. I was again given the same information.

On further talking about the matter I was also told that I was not receiving Star Gold as I had taken South Value Pack. But no where in the Airtel Website is this mentioned. I wanted to know why I was not given this infomation in the first place I got the reply "We apologize".

My complaint is that each time I call up Airtel DTH customer care I am given contridicting information. Also, the information given by the customer care and the Airtel website also do not match. So isnt this equivalent to fooling the customer?
When I asked about disconnecting the sevice I am told that I will not get any money back as I am paying for their "services". Since I have already paid for a year and I have used the so called services only for 3 months am I not entitled to receive the remaining money since I am not satisfied with the services?
