Cheated by BIG TV I had taken a BIG TV DTH on 8/09/08. The Smart Card No associated with the service is 200515260718.
I paid Rs 2990 to avail the Settop Box. Along with that i was given free recharge coupons worth Rs 1500.
Of the two plans available i opted for the Popular plan. With the Rs 1500 vouchers that i had, the popular plan should have lasted for 12 months. However after 6 months BIG TC has cut off my connection saying that they have given me premium service during the six months and the Rs 1500 vouchers that i had only paid for 6 months of Premium Service.
I have raised repeated complaints at the BIG TV customer Care through reference nos 91157625 and later through 91222346 but there has been no response forthcoming from BIG TV. The customer care executive says irrespective of what service plan i opted for, I have been given premium service and therefore will be charged for that.
My complaint is based on:
1) When i have opted for Popular Service how can BIG TV, without informing me upgrade it to Premium Service.
2) Why is there is no redressal mechanism at BIG TV to ensure that customer's are not wronged.

If you opted any particular plan as par your convenience then the parent company can't upgrade/degrade the service plan without your permission. You can easily drag them to the Consumer Court. But before going to the Court we need to confirm that have you all the relevant document that support your statement.
