Shockingly substandard products by Airtel DTH
I brought 5 Airtel DTH connections for my residential use. These were installed at my residence on August 2nd, 2010. However, right from the start there was some or the other problem in the Set Top Boxes supplied and Airtel kept on changing them. The situation was so bad that in the first 6 months there were almost 9 STB changes required and a 10th one also became due. All in a period of 6 months.
Airtel told me that I was given a warranty of 1 year and till then they would happily keep on changing the STBs as required.
My worry is what after 12 months? At the given rate, it would mean I would need to change every STB once in three months which would translate to 20 STB changes in a year which means I would have to pay an additional Rs. 16000.00 every year for their great service.
Do we have any protection against such substandard equipment?
