On the 16th Nov 2009, my Dishtv set top box started software update all by itself. The update wasn't initiated by me. And then it went blank after a power failure. The set top box wouldn't start after that.
I took it myself to their local Dishcare center. They charged me Rs300 for reloading software. Is it legal to plunder money like this from subscribers. Because i didn't initiate any update. After all it may initiate software update again and fail again. And i will have to shell out money to get it repaired every time.
Also the Dishtv customer care told me their fixed charge for software related issues is 225+taxes. Dishtv wrongfully took money from me and also overcharged!
What should be my course of action now?
