NEVER NEVER OPT FOR AIRTEL DTH CONNECTION
Here is what happened to me:
I got an LCD HD TV and wanted to get a new Airtel HD connection. I put my information on Airtel website and very nice person (of course from SALES department!!) called me back and explained the options. I wanted to still shop for a few other options but this guy kept calling me and explaining different plans etc etc. Anyway, finally I thought of going with Airtel HD and paid the money over phone. The sales executive gave me a transaction id (10365170) and mentioned that the installation will be completed in 24 hours. This happened on Aug 19 around 1 PM. Later I got the customer id (3005009733) by SMS.
I waited for a few days and no calls or emails showed up. Finally, on Aug 23, I started making calls to the customer service (12150) and every time I was told that the "BACKEND TEAM" and "CONCERNED DEPARTMENT" will get back to me shortly. Anyway, there is no call, no action from anyone. So far I made about 15/20 calls to the customer care and no result is seen yet.
On Aug 24, finally I got to talk to a supervisor (Manasa) at around 9:30 AM and she mentioned that if the installation is not done within another 24 hours, the money will be refunded. But it was expected to be done by the end of day, Aug 24.
Today is Aug 25 and nothing has happened so far. So I called the customer service again and got to talk to another supervisor (Syed) and asked for the refund to happen. He mentioned that the "BACKEND TEAM" will call me by 2:00 PM to process the refund. Now it is 1 PM and still no call.
Anyway, there is a price of every experience. To have the bad experience with Airtel DTH Customer Service, it costs only Rs 2855.00 and 7 days. If you are rich and have enough time to spend, go ahead; otherwise, stay miles away from them!
