Default Credit Card Rejected due to CIBIL by Std Charted.

    To Whomsoever it may concern,

Recently i have applied for a credit card and came to know that it got rejected due to negative feedback from CIBIL.

I don't understand how come CIBIL adds consumers to defaulters list without even contacting the consumers for the confirmation?
I had a standard charted credit card, the mistake i have done is to accept the offer they have explained to me on the phone.
Later i have cancelled the offer and was ready to pay the damages.
I have received a mail from standard charted to make the payment of 1100/- for the damage (proof of the mail is listed below)
Next day i received a call from Standard Charted, Bangalore for making a payment of 10000/- as they were not able to reverse the charges and i have to pay the unnecessary insurance charges which i have not utilized.

I have made the payments in regular intervals for all the purchases i have made using the credit card.
My concern was that i have not made any purchases, the outstanding amount 10000/- was the offer including the insurance charges which i have requested to reverse and email me the damages. Also, i was ready to pay the damages till 5000/- even which they have not accepted.

I was forced to make the payment and was mentally harassed by daily calls from Bangalore.
Now i am in need of a loan which i cannot avail as my name is in CIBIL.

Please help me out in resolving the issue and clear my name from CIBIL?

    Regards
    Abhilash Muppidi

    Dear Mr. Muppidi,

This is with reference to your e-mail dated September 12, 2011

A review of our records indicate that the card was issued to you agreeing to the terms and conditions governing the issuance and usage of the credit card account.

We wish to draw your attention to the card member rules and regulations regarding the payments on your credit card and are constrained to state that it is imperative for the customer to ensure that

? Payment for the minimum amount due reaches the bank by the payment due date to avoid debit of late payment charges and to keep the card account in regular status.

? Payment in full, reaches the bank by the payment due date to preclude debit of associated interest charges.

In the statement dated 04/02/2011, the total outstanding in your card ending
1561 was Rs.7316.33 towards which we not in receipt of your payment towards the same. Hence, financial charges were billed to your card account. Subsequently, we have been receiving either partial / no payment towards the outstanding.
Hence, further financial charges were billed to your card account.

On reviewing your card account, we find that you have been effecting either partial / no payment towards the outstanding dues. Hence, financial charges were debited to your card account. We regret our inability to reverse the same.

Owing to non payment of dues towards your card account for a considerable period of time we have invalidated your card account in our records and reflect outstanding balance of Rs.10329.33 on your Instabuy account ending 1561. We have attached the Instabuy account number for your reference and the same has been password protected by your date of birth(ddmmyy).

With regard to repayment, you can make payments towards your purchases either by cash or cheque. The cash payment can be made in any of the Standard Chartered Branches across the counter. However, if you wish to make a cheque payment, the same needs to be in favour of your 16-digit Credit Card number.

If you propose to settle your card account for an amount lesser than the actual outstanding across your card accounts, we would request you to confirm your decision on the same, to enable us to advice you accordingly.

Assuring you of our best services always

    Yours sincerely,

    Dear Abhilash,

We have seen many cases whereby the consumer is under the impression that the credit card is closed but no so in the books of the financial institutions. Consumer is directly effected when this negativity is reported in CIBIL.

I work at Debt Doctor in Bangalore, we have resolved many such cases representing the consumer. If you like more details, you can contact me on kiran@debtdoctorindia.com or 080-30732222.

    Regards,

I guess its only standard chartered bank that does not even care about the complaints that consumers post in this forum as i never saw a reply from any of the bank executives or customer care representatives. Now my interest charges (5000 Actual Outstanding + 7450 Interest) are more than my outstanding amount which i was told to pay and there is no other way to clear the name from CIBIL.
