    Default Harassment from HDFC Credit Card Division

    Dear Sir,

    I have initiated cancelling HDFC Credit Card which I scarcely used and in the month Nov 2006 (3 years back). As discussed with HDFC and agreed by both parties, an amount of Rs.2350/- was to be paid by me against which I had paid Rs.600.00 cash and two cheques of totaling Rs.1750 (Settlement Offer Letter was issued by HDFC in this regard and on on 21/Dec/06 and Doc Ref.No S2 12865).

    Subsequently after 7 to 8 months, HDFC came back to me that I had to pay some crazy amount not binding to the letter issued by them earlier - Reason given for this was that they had misplaced the two cheques given earlier and I had to pay accrued charges of Rs.4,500.00 plus. This followed with several threats from recovery personnel, legal cell etc. They had used very abusive language sometimes asking me whether I am educated or illeterate etc. In all the discussions, I had refused to pay beyond Rs.1750 as this was not my fault. After scores of calls, they have agreed to collect the amount and close the case.
    On 22/Aug/07, I paid the due of Rs.1750/- by cash and procured the receipt (HDFC Doc Ref.No S 0034749) and they have assured cancelling Credit Card in a few days but this never happened and exactly after a year I had received a letter on 26/Aug/09 that I had to pay close to Rs.8747.00 failing which Legal Proceedings would be initiated against me.

    This is truly a case of harassment of the customers and total irresponsibility on behalf of HDFC Credit Card division. I am very frustrated with this kind of unprofessional behavior from such reputed bank. Having all the receipts with me, I think have a very valid case here and seek your advise on how I should proceed further.

    Its very much harassment from the HDFC and its totally their fault that they misplaced the cheque and now they can't ask for money.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I have been harassed by HDFC Bank while on Telephone and they are also sending people at my home I am not there, they have been threatening my family by saying if I do not do the payment they will keep calling me and sending people at my residence. I have been saying them that I have lost my job and where I am working currently is not paying me much, so I asked them for a settlement and told them that I will pay whatever I have spent, but instead of providing with a solution they are giving me mental torture. Neeta Jadhav has called me from HDFC Bank Ltd, Lodha I Pin Techno Camp, Level-1, Building A, Next to Railway Station, Kanjumarg. Her no. is 9320131354, ext. 1766. yesterday 09.02.12, she said to me to do a min payment of 200/- and she said that after that they will release my case for settlement and I did as she told me, now today again I have received call and they are saying to pay more money and then only they will give me settlement amount, this confusion and harassment has been happening from last 3 to 4 months and every time I receive call from different no. and people, here are few mentioned nos from which they call me-02261396400, 02240313939, 02228564332, 02265003273, 02261439300, 02230552300, 02243685200, 9324343275, and they all give me different update at a different time, and they all say different things, by this it has only created confusion and mental torture to me, I am leaving in a dreaded and problematic situation from this bank People, they are very unorganized, I don't know which people are calling me for the payment and what exactly they want me to do. Even though I have made this thing clear to them that I want to clear the amount that I have spent, but still they are harassing me. Please guide me what should I do. I need some help.

    Default Payment of Outstanding - Painful exp

    Hi

    I am trying to payoff my total outstanding of HDFC credit card also it would be great help if the bank can give me some EMI option to ease me from the burden. As I have medical emergency at home as my son is diagnosed with cacerous tissues and need a long treatment. I has to get finances ready for the same.

    I spoke to the customer care but they said bank doesnot have any facility as such.

    Can anyone help me in raising the voice against this because as a customer I am helpless and need some help from eigther bank or the forum in our trenchful situtation.
