Subject: Bogus Claim of HSBC against credit card never applied nor received/used by me.
Sir/Madam,

I would like to bring to your notice the following facts for your consideration which are continuously causing harassment to me and to my family. I would also like you to read the mail trail communication from A S Sudha, Asst Vice-President - Customer Service HSBC, assuring me that the case pertains to another customer .

  1. Within 3-4 days of my joining the IBM India Pvt ltd Gurgaon office in 2008, I received a statement from HSBC on my official address of IBM at Gurgoan that an amount of Rs. 2,50,000/- is outstanding against my credit card (which was neither applied nor received by me).

  1. It is very surprising to note that I received the above said statement on my official address i.e. IBM India Pvt Ltd. at Gurgaon within 3-4days of my joining IBM office. I fail to understand how things can move so fast that I applied for the credit card, got it, used it and received the statement from HSBC in my office within a short period of 3-4 days asking me to deposit the amount of Rs. 2,50,000 alleged to have been spent by me using the credit card (which was neither applied nor received by me).

  1. The fact remains that I never applied for the credit card nor I received the same and as such there is no question of using it.

  1. I have consistently replied through emails to HSBC denying their claim of my applying/receiving/using the credit card.
  2. Thereafter, I started getting E-mails from HSBC followed by threatening phone calls.
  3. After considering my replies sent by email the bank (HSBC) finally treated the matter closed and regretted for the inconvenience caused to me vide email received on 21.11.2008 from MS AS Sudha Asst. Vice-President-Customer Service. The relevant para of the email is reproduced below.
“We have checked our records and it seems that the calls received by you pertain to another customer whose number might have changed and not intimated to us. We understand your concerns and are sorry for any inconvenience caused to you due to this recent unpleasant experience. ”

  4. It was further confirmed from an Email dated 22.11.2008 from Tanmoy Goswami Customer Service Executive, HSBC India which is reproduced below.
We wish to inform you that as per the revert from the concern department no HSBC credit card is linked to your e-mail id. We request you to ignore the call received from HSBC regarding your credit card.”
  1. As a result of para 6 and 7 above I thought that the matter stands closed. However, on 17.01.2012, a Sikh gentleman named Kishan Singh (of GS Finance, Jhandewalan, Bike No.HR29Y8332, Mob No. 8860864402, time 11:10 AM, as written by him in visitor’s register of the DDA apartment) knocked at my residence door and started questioning my wife on the issue in my absence.

9. I fail to understand how he got my residential address and started harassing my wife. Further, my wife received a phone call today (21-JAN-2012) from Miss Chhavi, phone number (+911409804013), from HSBC office threatening her and causing my entire family harassment and mental tension.
From above, I feel that due to the above claim of HSBC India, my family members and I are being subjected to unnecessary harassment, mental torture and agony since 23.10.2008.
Due to the above facts I am suffering from anxiety, depression and other related ailments.
You are requested to kindly look into the matter and instruct HSBC to stop harassing me and my family.
