    Default Harassment by HDFC Bank Employee for CC Payment

    Dear Sir,

    My name is Amit Sharma and I used to be a consumer of HDFC bank credit card during the period 2008-2009. You can check my details using my name or DOB (13-02-1983) in your system. I do not have any case no to refer to for now.


    Here is the issue -


    I used my credit card to do some shopping during 2008 and was paying the EMIs pretty well unless I started getting continuous follow up calls on payments.
    The calls and follow up was being done by the HDFC Rajori Garden branch people. Those guys used to come to my house and kept sitting there and also they made an issue out of the same with my landlord also. Due to which my relationship with them became harsh and I had to leave that place.


    Then due to some family emergency, I had to quit my job and go back to my hometown. My financial situation was not good so I could not make the credit card payments and also i was pretty pissed off with the way your team behaved.


    The family situation continued for 3 yrs and now it has been sorted out. So, I came back to Delhi and I recently started my job since June 2011.
    I had to start my career all over again as a fesher. Now, i decide to pay all my liabilities. There was one loan that I took from ICICI bank during 2007. So, I spoke to the ICICI people and got it sorted out last month. It was a pretty heavy amount for a fresher (4 lac) and I had a lot of issues in sorting it out. But with the support from ICICI bank people, I did manage to solve it.


    Now, I have to pay your bank for my credit card expenses which is the only liability I am left with. I am very much willing to pay it as it is my only debt remaining but not in the way it is happening.
    I just started my job all over again after 3 yrs from a fresher level and have paid such a huge amount of money by making "arrangements" only. So, I am still struggling with my financial situation.


    To make the matters worse, this guy called "Ankit (8130467991 / 011-43790327)" from your Narayana Branch is hounding me with collection calls. He calls around 20-25 times a day and starts abusing and talking in a rash tone. I have already told him that I am going to make the payments but if this is the way I am being treated, I would humbly refuse to make any payments. This was one reason why I stopped making payments earlier and I would be doing the same this time also.


    I do not want to get into a debate and legal on this. All I would really appreciate if since you guys have already waited so much, just allow me a couple of months more. By Jan end, I shall settle down the issue.


    I understand that there have been non payment from my end, however it was your team members who compelled me to behave that way.


    Expecting a fair response.
