TO HDFC Credit Card & HDFC ERGO Insurance


My policy numbers are 50532971and 50532972. I had opted for a credit card ( 5289456002217466 )last year in December 2010. Along with the card, I was also given the HDFCERGO Insurance which I had not requested for.


I had sent an Email regarding cancellation of the Insurance. I received an acknowledgement stating that it would be done in 7-10 days time.


On January 6 2011, I received post that the insurance is cancelled and the premium amount would be credited to the account.

I was shocked to see an amount of Rs.13104.75 being put on hold in my Current Account. I checked with my nearest HDFC bank and came to know that it has been blocked against the Insurance on the card.

I have not transacted even once using the Credit Card and my insurance is also cancelled.



Very Unpleasant Customer Experience


I also contacted Miss Rajalakshmi and her staff from the Credit Card department (Nelson Manickam Road Branch, Chennai) and I did not get any help from them. I had to contact them several times and the way they interacted was awful. I have never experience a miserable service ever. Miss Rajalakshmi and her staff gave all incorrect information without even properly checking the records. They did not make any proper follow ups and I was completely kept in dark. I was also referred to Mr. Pramod (Manager) who did not even appear when I had to report my grievance. Overall, I received very poor service and response from them.





Why Rs.13104.75 has been put on hold without my information and for no reasons?


1. I request you to credit Rs.13104 immediately (Current A/C Name :"Sahasranaman Venkateswaran" Current A/C No.: 06742000001340 ).

2. I need compensation for unnecessary hold placed on my Current Account for Rs 13104.75/- without my information. When I used my debit card at a restaurant, it was rejected because of insufficient balance. It caused embarrassment to me and I had to call up home to arrange payment. I had lot of inconvenience because of this.


I've all the records pertaining to the above issue and would present it wherever it is required.
