ihave been holding a HSBC credit card for number of years now and when I applied the card, it was mentioned that no annual fee will be levied to us. this was never followed by HSBC and i always charged with annual fee each year and I need to call customer care to cancel the annual fee..
further recently, HSBC executive approached me to upgrade my gold card to platinum card and mentioned that I close the outstanding in gold card to facilitate upgrade to platinum card.
I did the same thinking that this is just another card as I always maintained the limit and made all payments in time.
i did receive the platinum card and to be active, I need to do first transaction which I never did ( or i never had to buy anything using credit card).
for last 4 months there was no statement from the bank and nor any communication abt the card status.
one fine day, someone visited my home showing some slip asking to settled the outstanding amount in the new upgraded card.
I was surprised as I never used the card and there was no single transactino and thus the card is inactive.
I tired all the means to reacht the bank and no help. i then communicated through email and slowly they started responding but never answering any of my questions related the card. rather always said, there is x amount outstanding to be paid.
in my view this is absolutely a breach of customer loyalty and dispute of credit card..
