Rs 4000).It is threatened that people will be send to our house to collect the money.
It is requested to kindly look into the matter and take the necessary action as soon as possible .My relevant details are :

    Default HSBC Credit Card

About 6 years ago I owned a credit card (4384-5999-9602-4948) issued by HSBC Bank. I got this credt card cancelled more than 3 years ago (by calling the phone banking number of HSBC). After cancellation, I stopped getting any statements for this credit card. According to company guidelines, I cut the card into 4 pieces and discarded it. Now, after 3 years, I have started receiving calls from HSBC credit card collections department saying that approximately Rs 9,600/- has been spent on this credit card and that I need to pay them the outstanding amount. Over the last 6 months, I had received some calls from the collections department of HSBC requsting me to make a notional payment of Rs. 150/- and Rs. 175/- respectively, after which they would investigate my case in detail and close the case. Despite no fault of mine, I still paid Rs. 150/ in December 2008 and Rs. 175/- to HSBC in April 2009 just so that this matter be investigated. However they did not take any action on this case. I have tried explaining to them that (a) I cancelled this credit card 3 years ago (b) During the last 3 years I have never got any statement mailed to me (c) I do not possess this card as it was physically destroyed. I have been requesting them to investigate this matter that their end. However, they are not ready to address my grievance and instead, they are trying to force me to "settle" the 50% of the amount. The collection agent Mr. Akshay mentioned over phone that even after making 50% of the payment, my name will be blacklisted in the Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited (CIBIL) because of which I shall be unable to apply for any loans (from any bank in India) in the future. Over the past few weeks, I have received several calls from the collections department. When I told Mr. Akshay that I would report this matter to the Department of Consumer Affairs / Consumer Courts, he started threatening me with a lawsuit that HSBC bank would file on me. All this desp
I feel intimidated and threatened by the repeated phone calls being made to my mobile phone by HSBC representatives. I fear that HSBC bank might dispatch some recovery agents to my home who might harm me, my family and my property. I have suffered loss of peace of my mind and suffered an additional loss of Rs. 325/- in the form of payment that I made to HSBC credit card department to investigate and close this case. Moreover, I now face the threat of my name being blacklisted in Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited (CIBIL) because of which I shall be unable to apply for any loans (from any bank in India) in the future.
I would like HSBC Bank to investigate the matter over their end. They should accept the fact that since I cancelled the credit card more than 3 years ago and I stopped receiving any form of written communication from the bank (like credit card statements or special offers), I do not have any liability to pay them the outstanding amount on any spending made on the credit card 3 years after I made the cancellation. They should send me a letter signed by the concerned authorities with the bank seal / stamp and hologram) giving me a guarantee that all the outstanding amount on this credit card is being withdrawn and that I do not owe any money to the bank. Most importantly, they should give me a written guarantee (with the bank seal / stamp and hologram) that my name will not be blacklisted in the Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited (CIBIL). Also, they should give me a guarantee that it is their responsible to block this credit card to ensure that someone else should not be able to spend any further amount on this credit card.

    Dear Mr. Ramteke,

First of all, we would like to advice you, not to disclose your complete credit card number and other details to anyone/any merchant or on any website.

To sort out such kind of Banking complaints, you will have to send a written complaint to the Head Office of the concerned Bank and wait for the response for near 15 to 20 days. The HSBC Bank's head office address is:
    C/o Managing Director, HSBC Bank,
    52/60 Mahatama Gandhi Road,
    Mumbai, Maharashtra - 400001.
    Fax. No. 22-22670703.

    Default Nitin Patil

    Hello,
I am a HSBC credit card holder with ‘add-on’ card being used by my brother-in-law. He rented an apartment in Kansas (USA) and paid for insurance through internet. He left the apartment after few months. However, the insurance company renewed the policy and managed payment from HSBC without informing him. He complained to the insurance company and they have promised refund of the amount. My question is-How HSBC paid the amount to the insurance company without authentication from me or add-on card user. They are charging me overwhelming interest as I refused to pay the amount. I have got number of calls from them for payment and everytime I have explained that I did not authorize the payment. Now, they are threatening me that they will report to regulatory authorities and in worst case scenario, I will not get loan from any bank.

Angry HSBC credit cards undue charges

I had an HSBC credit card some 3 yrs back, due lack of proper services and undue late payment charges being levied on my card i stopped using the same within 5-6 months of issue.
I would never get the credit card statement in time, neither through snail mail, email or even SMS. On top of these they would charge me late payment fees. Due to all this i stopped using the card and opted for a StanC card.
I made whatever amount was due in my card and closed the account.
Now after 3 yrs I get phone calls from HSBC's recovery dept. that some Rs. 4000+ amount is due in my card and I'll have to make this payment to avoid listing as a defaulter. I have been told that it was actually the closing amount on my card which I had not paid and is now blown into this much amount.
At the time of the issue of the card I was told that this was 'free for life' card and there would be no additional fees at all whatsoever. Even the Terms and Conditions document did not mention of any Closing amount that would be charged in case of Card Closure.
Now the recovery dept. reps are asking me make the settlement with a lesser amount but I dont understand why I should pay anything at all for a service that I am not availing
This is a total RIP OFF on HSBC's part.

    Default HSBC Visa card

    Dear sir,

I had a HSBC Visa card while I was living in India and closed the account upon leaving. In May of 2008 I received a final settlement from HSBC which I paid in full and instructed that the credit account was terminated at that point.
About three months later I recieved another statement for an outstanding amount. I have tried for over 16 months to find out what the charge is for. I have paid hundreds in phone calls, countless emails. I even went the the head HSBC office in Singapore to settle the issue.
I cannot pay a statement unless I know what I'm being charged for.
I just keep going round and round and every month recieve a new statement with addational interest charges.
Can anyone please help me resolve this issue.

    Best regards,

    Jack Steinmetz

Angry HSBC THE WORLD`S LOUSY BANK ( Bahrain)

    Dear All,

I have been a HSBC customer in Bahrain for several years now and although their services are not the GREATEST the convenience of having hem close to where i live is what makes me stick on.

Although i have now had enough of HSBC and no longer will bank with them.

One morning almost a year ago i received a phone call from the cred card collection department asking me for the payment, i was confused as i have a standing instruction to debit my account. I was told by the not so KIND gentelmen that i DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT with HSBC. First i thought they were joking and i commented "how do i have a credit card with HSBC but no account???" i went to the bank and found out that they did not have any record of my account- gone- vanished- where ??? they had no clue. Thanks to the highly qualified and compitent staff they deleated my account !!!!! with my money missing , more like STOLEN by HSBC.

after 2 long weeks they reinstated my account and said it was lost during system upgrade... NOT an appology nothing.

Now they have blocked my credit card although i have paid in FULL , been to the branch 4 times and called over the phone 7 times no resolution, they dont even know what the process is not one of them and i spoke to a few.

conclusion close my account return their credit card and never ever bank with them.

    GOOD RIDENS TO BAD RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
