    Default Charging of Annual Fees

    Dear Sir,

    I have been holding a credit card issued by HSBC BANK and an add on card for the past many years. I was told that this was free for life card and there is no annual fees or joining fees or any other hidden fees whatsoever.

    I have not charged these fees at any time before also, till on 13th April 2010, they charged 700 plus service charges as annual fee and Rs 350 plus service charges to add on card as annual fee.

    I wrote to info@hsbc.co.in on 15th April 2010 and the response I got was Shocking. They mentioned that there is no such thing called free for life cards. there was a promotional campaign at that time, (many years ago) and that is why no annual fee or joing fee were charged. Now there is no promotional schemes are running and I should make the above payment.
    I replied on teh same day to cancel the card, and I shall not be making any payments. They replied saying I have to pay in full and apply in writing to some address to cancel the card.

    My question is 1. Why they have suddenly started charging annual fee for a card which was promised to be free for life.
    2. They have not charged any joining fee and annual fees for the past many years.
    3. If they are going to charge annual fee, why was I not informed prior to charging and give me an opportunity to exit/cancel the card.
    4. Whatwas the promotional campaign going on and why and when was it stopped? They never intimated about any promotional scheme till date over the past many years and they have not informed me that the promotional scheme is over.
    5. I know of another customer, where the annual fee is waived two days back, saying they are waiving due to some promotional campaign going on. So why there is no promotional campaign for this card. Is ithis not double standards of HSBC.

    Kindly guide me how to file complaint and where. Consumer court , ombudsman or any other recourse available to me.

    this is nothing but cheating and daylight robbery.

    Pls take some action against this bank before they start looting unassuming Indians.

    I can give you all the details of the card etc once you let me know the course of action available with me in this regard.

    Default credit card details not avialable with hsbc

    I was holding HSBC credit card 3 years ago. i have settled and closed the card 3 years ago. now when i applied for loan CIBIL status is Written off against Hsbc card. when i enquired regarding my card and outstanding dues wiht HSBC. they are unable to find data related to my card. can you help me on this.

    Hsbc bank offered me a credit card to rebuild my credit. I filled the application online and they issued me a credit card in 14 days. I called hsbc activated credit card verifying millions of personal questions, i had set up account access online providing also personal information. I went to a gas station to purchase gas and my credit card was declined. A message outside of the pump said "See cashier"
    I went inside provide card to the teller, and she says the same thing "declined". I called right there customer service at the back of the card, and get this lady asking full social security, mother's maiden name,date of birth, and the whole nine yards of my private information. Anyway, i explain the situation and i get that my account has been blocked by this customer service person because she is not able to pull some sort of report that has personal public records about me. This is some sort of questions like do you have an installment account with the following companies:
    gmac, chrysler, bmw, none of the above
    and you have to say well i have an account with chrysler and this is how they verify that the caller is the person who it is. My account is blocked because of this? and I am being denied
    a purchase of $10 dollars in a gas station because a customer service person has put a hold on my account because they are not able to identify public records questions about the user of the account? and until i don't send a mailed copy of my driver's license and two utility bills to their corporate office, my credit card will remain blocked????? how stupid can this be. i give you all my personal information, i go thru an online process of setting up my online access for my credit card setting up personal information, and i am blocked from accesing my account online and in a gas station until i send copies of my driver's license and two utility bills to verify that i am the user? what joke is this? how innefective you block an account from a user who is able to verify transactions in the account, able to register this personal account and set up security questions, what else do you need???????? I am so frustated with the conversation i had with both the manager and the person from customer service that I just can believe that they are able to inconvenient a client of their this way.
    i understand fraud happens, but if you aable to provide all the private information about yourself how is that i still have send copy of my driver's license and two utilities bills to their company for my security hold be removEd?? how ilogical can this be. yOU eeven call my house number provided in the application and you were able to speak with me on the phone. I am so mad
    about how innefective this customer service matter tried to resolve an identify problem? This is so ilogical and ridiculous that you should be ashame that you work in the customer service department. my bill with them is coming to be paid with them next month, and my access online has been placed on hold, i am not able to use the card for purchases, and i still have to pay a bill to them which i don;t know when is due because i set up ppaperless statement and my account access online is on hold waiting for my tverify my identity with a copy of my ddrivers license and two utility bills.
    What other verification you need when i nknow the purchases i made on the card plus i answered my house number when you call to follow up on my request to sspeak with a supervisor. you are bunch oof no brainers !!! the real thief have aa real kick of you stupidity that are not able to control people access your databases and steal identities from a computer database, and the customer who oprovides all her personal information still have to fax a copy of their driver;s license. How stupid this is....

    They told me that unless i send copy by mail of my driver's license and two utilities bills my access online and card are blocked indefenetely.

    Default Charging of primary membership fee

    Sir, I have your HSBC GOLD Credit Card from last few years, having a Credit of Rs.50,000/- and I regularly paying applicable dues on it. In the statement of this month i.e. Sep.2010 you have charged me Rs.2000/- towards primary card membership fee.
    In this regard, I would like to notice you that, no other Banks are charging such type of fees and giving card absoulitly free. Therfore, I request you that, kindly waive my primary card fee and oblige.

    Further Statement showing Dtd.11 Aug.2010 Service Tax Assessment @10.30% which comes to Rs.206/- What is this charges ? please clarify.

    i have same issue please let me know how did you resolve this issue i applied in banlore and then moved to Pune and recived legal notice with heavy amounts in lakh and never used any credit card.

    Default Hsbc credit card complaint

    Sir/Madam,

    I was holding credit card of hsbc bank , card no. 4384 5999 9501 1169. Last year in the month of february 2009 or so, i submited request to the bank's fort branch, requesting them to close my card and do not send notice of asking amount of Rs.4500/- appx.

    Thereafter i did not recive any communication. in the month of March till August, i was in Aurangabad on duty. I came back on september 2010 and found that i have recd a statement of my credit card with amt of ?Rs.14783.87

    I called on HSBC BANK ON 022 66668817 to write off the amt. where i came to know that my name has been listed as defaulter in CIBIL a credit rating agency. Telephonic agent also, told me that if i need my to be deleted than i should pay entire amount which is as on now Rs.15000 +.

    You are requested to look into the matter and help me to get rid off this.

    Default Harassment & utter nuisance from HSBC Credit Cards collection

    It has been absolute harassment for the last 2 yrs from HSBC Credit cards to LL no. 04422490027- while the person they r looking for is no longer available at this number.. Inspite of telling them umpteen times, they dont seems to understand. I have told them in so many words that i have lost contact with the person and they still keep harassing.. The last call from a filthy woman - from "809783063" has forced me to take this measure and am not going to leave it at this.. What's more troublesome is the dirty/ filthy language she uses (and she has called quite some times earlier too).. We are a respectable family and I have aged parents at home.. How dare she uses this kinda language!! I am a banker by profession, specifically handle Credit Cards and i know how to handle this! I am not going to tolerate this any further and will do all it takes to ensure that i dont get any further calls... For all the harassment, the mentalk agony & the frustration that I and my parents have gone through, I want to be compensated....

    Unhappy HSBC harrasements

    My name is sudhirchandra , i am from bangalore. 3 years back i have received HSBC credit card, i was used and paid in time what ever has to pay . after some time my credit was increased , so that i could not sustain . Finally i had gone for settlement . The mistake happend from Bank is they have given a holiday date as final settlemet day. i was shocked . then i called to HSBC customer care and requested to post pon the date . they agreed also .so next day i paid the pending settlemet amount . now after one year they again started harrasment that i have to pay full and they are showing my credit card number but i received settlement letter for my account number . can you please explain me , is there any difference between these 2 . i was mentally harrased like any thing . please support me to get the compensation .

    Myself Pravinchandra D Sulakhe had HSBC Credit Card by year 2002 and that time i had taken some amount on cash and by the 2004 i had closed my account by paying entire amount on 2004.

    As on the day i had applied a loan in State Bank Of India for purchasing the land and my all paper work is completed and only its showing Written Off Marks from HSBC banks, so please cancelled the same marks, so that my paper works will completed and i can get the loan as early as possible, if any chargers has to be pay, please inform me.

    This card is in my name UDAY DEORAS yetrecovery agents arer troubling my son who is over the age of 18 and working independently in a company in PUNE.
    This complaint is regrading ILLEGAL activities of the recovery people of your bank in Pune who refuse to give their address but have the following Mobile NUMBERS 09028235486/09326745841 Executive / Executive name NEETA.

    The said recovery agent is calling my son who works in Pune to seek paynment on MY card(Father) This is against the RBI guidelines.If they want to seek payment they have to contact me. They are calling my son’s office and harassing him –talking to his Boss and making complaints that his father is not paying credit card dues.They have called my son “CHOR KARAN” etc ahd he is on verge of loosing his job
    Apart from this I have already complained on line on the Gevernment consumer complaint site……

    I think BANK should take responsibility for having such a shoddy recovery service where they harass son to get from father.Why don’t they directly approach me? Is this what you have been taught in Harvard Business School of which the MD of the Bank Chanda Kocchar is an eluminus?

    Default Regarding petorl fuel surcharge refund

    Dear sir/madam,

    I'm Dheepa.K.S, from Bangalore. I owned a HSBC Credit card - 4476 9299 6091 6697 in yr 2008. I regularly pay my bills. At that time i was receiving the fuel surcharge refund. for your reference find my sep'08 month statement.

    From 2009 onwards, i didnt get any fuel surcharge refund. Today around 8.58pm i had spoke one of your customer care representative Anjun. He said that from 2009 august onwards we had stopped. But if u stopped as he said then check my jan'2009 statement why surcharge is not credited from jan'09 to aug'09.

    I want to make payment which is reasonable.I'm not getting whether HSBC Bank got so poor to give proper respose... this is irritating and pathetic. not even think about that i'm dealing with a poor bank like HSBC.

    I had some short of questions from the bank. will pls answer me in properway.

    1. first i had spoke to one of your employee preethi, she said that we havent returned any surcharge in ur account. And then anjun has told me that we had stopped after august 2009 onwards for that so far i didnt receive any letter or sms f rom the bank. In my Jan'2009 statement is showing that there is no surcharge amt was credited. Any how u had voice record, kindly check the conversation happend. y all of your employees telling improper answer.

    2. Till today i dont have any backmark from HSBC.if u have any doubt u can check my statements.

    3. If the bank need ontime payment, i'll get sms, mail / Hard copy of statement. all those things u all r conveying the message one or other way. Why dont u people didnt convey this to me? each and everytime anything or everything i have to contact only your customer care. eventhough thr is no proper response.


    That is the only reason i am sending this mail. If this mail reach to right person in HSBC, I request you to please help me to get my full surcharge refund.

    If any one has HSBC Managing Director email Id Pls provide me

    Default HSBC Credit card Problem

    Hello Sir,

    I am beeing harrased by HSBC Credit card department person that saying I was due amount of 9000 INR.
    I have spoke with Credit card depart regarding this and got conformed that I have no Dues at all. and I have not usedthis card till now since I hold. They are really harrassing for the number +911145699352. They are blakmailng me like they will submitt my details to Credit Fraud department as I am the Genune user of ICICI and HDFC cards. If you have any doubts please conform with the ICICI and HDFC.

    Default stop faq charging on expire card

    hallo sir\madam
    i have been never use HSBC credit card. card was issued to me a free card with out annual fees. on 25-3-07 and it expire in 2008 i was received a telephonic call stating that your card is overdue by 35520/-. i was shocked to note after receipt of my monthly statement that a sum of rupees35520/- was charged as annual fees. in this regard i submit that sir i am not using the card from any year now without my knowledge and any enquiry i was penalised by charging 35520/- as annual fees. since the card was issued to me was a free card,iam allowed the card without any fees. kindly make use of your good offices and waive the annual fees of rs35520/- charged to my credit carf. when i called the phone banking officer today at 16.45hours they expressed their inability to waive it off hence the conplaint and stop all servieses.
