I had applied for the HDFC credit card with following details:

HDFC like any other credit card issuing agency had a long list of GOODIES to offer along with the credit card. But three things that I was interested in were:
1. 15% cash back when booked with Indigo Airlines.
2. 1+1 tickets through PVR Cinemas (max of 4 per month)
3. Credit Limit.
As soon as the docs were submitted I started receiving confirmation calls almost everyday from local and Chennai office. After a few days everything stopped. I tried contacting
Priya, who sounded promising and assuring before I had submitted my papers, but she could not be contacted. On repeated trials she started disconnecting my calls for clarification, assuming she had saved my cell number.
2 weeks later I received a text message on my cell phone asking me to act on a letter/information sent to my email ID. Since I hadn't received anything on the produced email Id I contacted the customer care and to my surprise I was told that the application had been DECLINED. When enquired I was told that someone from HDFC had come to my residence to details confirmation, but found the door locked. I never thought these people could be so silly and did not thought of calling me on the produced cell number.
I had enough and wanted to cancel the credit card application on the first occasion. In the same period I received a call from home informing me that some one from HDFC has come to confirm the details. I was really annoyed and immediately I called up the customer care. This time around I was told that the application status is PROCESSING. When I asked the CC executive, I was told that he/she did not have the information of the same and they only have the current status to tell.
HDFC Credit Card Back-Tracking On Facilities/Offers
1-2 days back I received a message from HDFC for ensuring the safety of the card as if they had already sent me a card. When I confirmed today (24/01/2011) with the customer care I was told that the application has been approved. I tried confirming the goodies that were promised to me I was told that
the PVR offer no longer exists, as it was a periodical scheme and was only applicable till last month, i.e. Dec 2010. I told the CC executive that I was confirmed time and again of this offer and this was one of the reasons I opted for this card, I was showered with lame excuses. Also,
the credit limit now offered was half of what was initially assured by Priya.
I want the answers to the following:
- Why was a false claim made by Priya on the Goodies and the Credit limit?
- Who is responsible for moderating cheaters like Priya who allure customer like me into false claims just to achieve her sales target?
I just received a call from home that my Credit Card has just been delivered. With all the false claims and the frustation ridden process, I do not wish to continue with the card.
