HDFC Credit Card - card misused / unautorized transaction

    Default HDFC Credit Card - card misused / unautorized transaction

    This is the email sent to the HDFC Credit Card grievance department by me.

    Hi Team,


    This is to notify you that my credit card has been charged with false transactions & i am not receiving appropriate help from the customer care.

    I have made valid transactions amounting 3818 rupees till now in this month.

    I check my card details everyday, yesterday i checked my credit card details online.

    I saw an unauthorized transaction of Rs 751 done by by card.

    I called the customer card they told me a couple of offline transactions have been done (500+200+50+1 = 751)

    I specifically told the rep that the card was with me & i was at home.

    We came to a conclusion that it might be a system glitch as swiping for 1 rupee did not made any sense.

    The rep advised me to call again & get the amount in dispute as its currently in outstanding amount section.

    Ticket No# 11012347882 was issued to me & the rep assured i don't have to pay anything from the amount of 751.

    I check my account again today to see if the amount was moved to unbilled transaction in order call the bank again.

    I was shocked to see the outstanding amount was increased to 5751 rupees.

    I called the bank again to report the story & got my card disabled & got the Ticket - 11013454874

    I told the bank to not to pay the amount to the merchant & put it in dispute (knowing that it is not the bank's policy)

    If we pay the merchant & then decide if the merchant is fraud or not does not makes any sense to me.

    I really need bank's support & guidance as the money i earn is hard earned money & can not afford to pay 9069 rupees when i have only spent 3838 rupees.

    I was issued a gold card in the month of may in the year 2009 which was upgraded by the bank to a titanium card due my good credit history.

    Till this date i have not faced any such issues & have not failed to pay a single bill. Everything has been done in an excellent manner.

    I am really worried & considered in order to what will happen, i really request you not to pay the merchant & file legal charges against him.

    Please contact me ASAP.

    its been two months struggling with the bank and still no resolution. i dont trust the bank any more.

    the bank has presented proof for couple of transactions received from the merchant.

    someone has recharged his/her airtel prepaid mobile, i have no association with the number.

    all the transactions are fraud. bank has requested me to submit a progressive dispute form which would be of no use as i know their answer would be the same even after another 45 days

    can please someone guide me or help me what to do next to fix the issue?

    Dear Sir,
    I have been with HDFC bank for past five years and been a genuine customer....there is no black mark in my credit statement so far...
    But now there has been a fradulent transaction made by someone using my card for Rs.10,000...I disputed the transaction twice but still HDFC is asking me to pay the amount. How could I pay for the transaction which I haven't made....This issue is really disturbing me and have no idea how to proceed. Any help or suggestion would be of great relief. The case number with HDFC is Case # 12042661058
