I am Manzoor Hasan a customer of CitiBank. I have a complaint against my stolen credit card no. 5546190068274009.
I had received the above mentioned card on April 2007, During those days I was working and staying at Kolkata.
I was on a tour for Mumbai and Bhopal from 10th of April to 20th of April as I remember when the above mentioned credit card along with necessary documents and my belongings were stolen from my rented house at Kolkata. Apart from all the losses incurred, the miscreant used the above mentioned credit card for purchasing and cash withdrawal which I came to know from customer care of Citibank and on 21st of April two persons from Citibank came to my office to discuss the entire matter. From them I came to know the break-up of all the transactions done by the miscreant using my credit card. All the transactions were done during my tour hopefully i.e on 17th of April. During my early discussions held with Citibank representative via email I had enclosed the copy of the Train tickets along with the FIR copy. A copy of each was handed over to those two persons also. Not only Citibank credit card but also I had lost my ICICI Bank ATM cum debit card. During the tour I was carrying only my salary account ATM cum Debit card. I must say the Citibank Credit card was new and never used by me.

As I reached Kolkata I called the customer care of both the banks to block my cards. My ICICI account was safe however Citibank credit card outstanding went to somewhere around 20,000. When I called the customer care of Citibank I asked the representative to freeze the amount and ensure that no interest is being charged. For more than 6 months I was in trouble associated with this burglary. During the entire course of time I was in contact with Citibank via email or over Phone. I left the organization where I worked, in August 2007 informing Citibank that I am not in a position to repay the amount as I had lost a lot and presently I am in a penny less situation.

I was really meshed up of this indirect debt on me and wished Citibank should show some empathy towards me. Things were getting more troublesome when I came to know from my office collegues that recovery agents have started searching for me.
Immediately the next day I spoke to Citibank representative named Rahul at Delhi regarding my problem. He assured me that if I pay an amount of Rs 2000 at the earliest, Citibank would freeze my credit card account outstanding amount and no interest or additional charges would be levied. I asked him how much is my current outstanding he told me it was around Rs 34000. I asked him if Citibank can give some rebate on the amount He told me it would be finally Rs 26000. I was not in a state to repay that much amount too as I had left my organization and came to pursue my studies. I asked Rahul to contact me in this email ID and update me regarding the monthly statement.
I also asked him if there is any easy way to pay that indebted amount in monthly installments basis if yes kindly send a mail regarding the terms and monthly EMIs. From then onwards I never received any email from Citibank. Citibank made all the efforts on tracking me despite my committed response to Rahul that I would pay the amount once you send an email. As I had already paid Rs 2000.
I requested Citibank to look into the matter and resolve it at the earliest. Instead of tracking me should have just sent me an email regarding their progress in my case. If the burden of the indirect debt on me was within my reach I would try to pay it at the earliest by depositing at the nearest Citibank Bank definitely on mutually agreed amount and Terms Basis. Trust me.
They have again started calling me unnecessarily which has disturbed me a lot. I need your intervention in this matter and resolve the matter. Right now I am not aware of the outstanding amount. Kindly ask them to give a rebate on the interests made on the actual amount.
