Complaint against HSBC Credit Card:
I was issued with a Gold Credit Card in 2004 from HSBC with Credit Card Number – 4384599996584354 and I moved to Africa in 2006 . I contacted HSBC on telephone and also by forwarding mails to them to confirm my pending amount before moving to Africa however no one forwarded the details. Whenever I used to come to India I used to seek clarification with HSBC but did not received any confirmation. In mid 2009, I, received a mail from HSBC that a balance of Rs 856 is due on my card. I did the full payment vide PNB cheque # 093162 dated 28 July 2009. However when I asked for the Clearance/No Dues certificate from HSBC they are now claiming that a total of Rs 53,335/- is due and they regret that the letter reflecting due as Rs 856 was a automated generated letter and cannot be considered as a settlement letter. HSBC is however not able to give any expenditure bill for the said amount but is claiming it to be late fees. I do have all my letters and speed post/ Registered letter/Courier receipts with me. Please guide me and I request you to appeal HSBC not to harass customers in this manner. I am attaching the letter received from HSBC with this mail. I request ICF to take this case strongly with HSBC. They are literally playing with the consumers . when I took the initiative to close the matter, the Bank’s response is extremely Harsh, Irresponsible & does not show a response of a professional body.I hereby request for a immediate settlement with a Clearance Letter.
This is a long pending issue and I request for immediate settlement.
Thanks with Regards
