    Exclamation Cheated by HDFC Bank

    To whom it may concern

    First of all, although RBI says consumers should go to banking ombudsman for any dispute, they should be aware that finding out the banking ombudsman itself is a job. I think ALL banks should display their grievance redressal system clearly on their website, with the escalation matrix and mentioning the ombudsperson's name and contact details clearly. Which, so far, only seems to be done by CitiBank.

    Now, going back to my complaint, I'm a senior citizen, and for various unforeseen reasons, I had to go for a settlement with my HDFC Bank credit card in the year 2008 for Rs 32700. However, even after clearing the full amount, now, after 2 whole years, they have come back to me saying that I need to pay them some more amount to clear the balance. And unfortunately as I did not have the payment receipts from last year, I had paid, which happened twice. And belatedly I realized, that I've paid them about another Rs 10000 extra.

    I had got a call from Chennai, from one Mr Ram Chandra Shetty, when they wanted to take another payment (which will add up to the 10k figure mentioned above) that I'm only due a last of Rs 4450, post which no payments will be due, and that I'd received an NoC within 72 hours of making the payment.

    Being a senior citizen, I thought lets just get over this once and for all, as i cannot be running pillar to post for this. And then another Mr Sandip Basu from Kolkata calle dto confirm the same.

    However this time, I write a letter and got it signed by the collection agent that I've cleared the full amount and there are no dues to the bank. But am yet to receive the NoC from the bank, its been over a month now. And honestly I will not be surprised, if they come knocking at my door again next month telling me their same sob story.

    I need some help and intervention here. Banks seem to have completely forgotten why they exist - to serve the consumer. Instead all they seem to be more interested in is money! Which again they forget is the consumer's.

    Can someone please guide me as how can take this forward or who the ombudsman would be.

    Default cheated my HDFC Bank

    Dear Sir,
    I already have a saving account with HDFC Bank and wanted to open a current account. I was told by Mr. Bhaumik (M 9200092092) and Mr. Khan (M. 9098218858) that the bank would open my account in 2 days at max. It has been 6th day today and I still don't have any clue on what they are doing with my rs. 10200. The amount had been deducted from my saving account number 97691000009606 on 30-11-10 but no one is able to answer where the amount has gone and what is the status of my current account. The only answer these gentlemen have is 'tomorrow'. I am clueless when is this 'tomorrow'.
    Please help

    Default Complaint against Cr card Issue| Horrible support

    Hi,

    First of all i would like to introduce myself. My name is Vikas and working with Wipro Infotech(Mysore) for past 3Yrs.

    Going forward I would like to bring to your notice that last year somewhere about October 2010, i got a call from HDFC Cr. card tele caller for applying a new credit card. Listening to the offer, i showed my interest and submitted the required docs to the executive. Since it was my first time that i was applying a credit card, i made a mistake and did not ask for the receipt of the form. Anyways, when i did not got a response for more than 45Days then i tried to get information from customer care. Everytime they took details and did not come up with any result. Since i did not had receipt, so i gave up this time. Still i had many mail follow ups also. attaching the mails.


    Again in Feb 2011 i got a call from HDFC tele caller to apply for the credit card from Ms. Priya, upon narrating the history, she convinced me to apply again and confirmed that this time there will not be any issue. Again i asked her exact document required and next day i submitted the DOCs, application number: CC07481552.

    But ironically this time also i felt cheated, when after more that 45days i did not get any update then i called customer care to know the status and they confirmed that my request was declined, upon asking detail, the person very rudely replied that they can not give any details and i will be getting the detailed mail for same.

    After submitting the docs twice when there was no proper response, then i approached Ms Priya again on her cell phone on 14th April 2011. Stating her the scenario, she promised me to confirm the reason for decline next day. Again no response, when i called on 16th April 2011, she reverted that it is not possible to fetch details on SAT-SUN. Feeling miserable, i called her again on 19th April(Tuesday), she again promised to share the detail asap. When contacting her on 21st April(Thursday), in a humorous way she replied "sir tomorrow is good Friday and we are in jolly mood, we will share you the details next week". Feeling frustrated, when i asked her to return my docs back, as i no longer have any faith in HDFC process, may be they will misuse my docs, she replied "Ok we will check and revert".


    Now Can you please tell me one thing, when your bank does not have a proper response procedure, they why do you go to public for your so called facilities/offers. When you cant provide a pre-customer based service, then how can we expect that after being your customer we will have a better support.

    Going forward, i am not interested anymore in your credit card. Also i will never apply for the same again. The only thing is that please stop cheating people and give some valued support. Somehow i feel relieved that i don't hold any kind of account with HDFC bank..

    I have a horrible experience since I have received HDFC Titanium Credit card. I was told by the CC Agent that being a IBM Employee, this card would be issued as a corporate life time free card. But, I was charged membership fee since my first month. I complained at HDFC Customer care several times & every time they registered my complaint & told me that I need not to pay the amount and assured me that this fee would be reversed on next bill since I was misguided by their agent. But it was never waived off. Now, I wanted to surrender the card but I am told I have to pay the membership amount with 3 month interest on it.
