ICICI bank fraud in name of Credit card and health card

    Default ICICI bank fraud in name of Credit card and health card

    Hi
    I havent applied for any credit cards. I applied for a personal loan
    in ICICI. I purposely didnt check the option for credit card(i have
    the copy of that too). But i recieved a credit card and with that
    the health card of ICICI lombard too. I didnt recieve any statements
    for my credit so i called the customer care and asked for the amount
    due and i paid it. since i didnt get the statement i didnt check for
    the transaction details, but the next time i got a statement(i didnt
    do any transaction!) which showed me i have to pay Rs318. i checked
    for the reason and found that it was for health card. so i paid the
    amount and then cancelled the health card on 31dec, before that i
    called the customer care but the usual response was 'system is under
    maintenance.please try later.sorry for the inconvenience'. then in
    my next statement guess what, i have to pay Rs6281( i havent used
    that card at all!!!) i was shocked and called the customer care
    again. they told that it was the cancellation charge for the health
    card. then after struggling a lot they gave me service request
    numbers(that was the third time) to cancel the cancellation charge.
    when i called to know the status the same response that i have to
    pay the cancellation charge. why the hell i should pay for that card
    which i didnt apply at all and i didnt use at all? i am very tired
    of calling those customer care people and now frustrated to the
    limits. now my due date for the credit card is 11 feb,2008. i dont
    know how to proceeed further. its of no use contacting the customer
    care people. anyone have faced the similar situation or have any
    idea how to proceed further? this is our hard earned money and this
    is absolutely not a meagre amount to ignore. i havent used that card
    at all. my sincere advice is PLEASE DO NOT HAVE ANY DEALING WITH
    ICICI FRAUD BANK.

    These Banks have become a real menace and it is time we inform more and more
    people through our networks how they are steal public money and conduct their
    affairs in most unethical ways.

    Stay alert !
    Banks and Media have ceased to be reliable friens of civil society.

    First of all, you can submit a written complaint at the ICICI bank website. They
    will revert you back within 48 hrs or at the max 10 Business days. If not
    satisfied you can again post your problem at the next excalation level. There
    are 4 to 5 levels where you can appeal and look for answers for your problems
    from the higher authorities.

    Still if not satisfied take all the print outs of the correspondence with the
    bank and sue them at the consumer court. You are correct, many people like me
    and you are innocent who have been trapped by the fraudulent policies of this
    bank.

    I have faced a fraud for one of my ICICI cards and i am also following this
    procedure.

    1. This is the age of - buyer beware

    2. What we read and understand that is not the end of it. What we read and
    understand FULLY that matters.
    3. Credit card annual charges may be free only for one year, when you get in
    habit they charge you double the next year.
    4. Banks, Credit card companies, telecom companies do what can be called as
    cross selling. It is not crime in eyes of law. THe DSA of these banks are also
    work as insurance advisors, etc. Every where in the world they do it.
    5. But it is our jurisdiction that we want it or not.

    HI Dude,

    1)I know what u are goin through because i had faced exactly the same problem.
    2)When i applied for ICICI credit card,they made me fill a field called NOMINEE,with my
    mother's name.
    3)After i got the card they told me i had applied for health card and they started
    explaining the premium details.
    4)I was least interested in that and asked them to cancel it as i did not want any
    insurance.
    5)I was told that it cannot be cancelled and the documents were already dispatched to
    my address(with whose permission???)
    6)He told me that it was a different department(Lombard) and asked me to accept the
    insurance in their verification call(with voice recordings where a sale is made) and
    assured me that once it comes to the credit card dept.,they will cancel it.
    7)I did so and recd a message that i had to pay 13500Rs.
    8)For 2 months i had tried and they never cancelled it and late payment fees were
    incrementing on my credit card.
    9)if i cancel i had to pay 50% of the amount.
    10)Finally with the help of the head of finance in my office,we approached the bank and
    the insurance was cancelled on their request.

    I got back my trust in the bank after this,but i will be extremely cautious for any transactions from now on.

    I advise you to be very clear when applying for something....be very confident to say NO for something u feel suspicious.

    before accepting any offer be careful and whatever is promised please verify from their written records and then accept

    Almost all these sales rep are frauds. If you dont sign any form they sign it themselves. They are masters in copying anybody's singature and even the bank does not cross verify with the customer whether they have applied for the card or other services or not. The role of the sales rep is over after submitting the docs to the bank. It is the bank reponsibility after that. I dont understand how can the bank not verify the same with customers if it is a RBI rule. Which cleary means that they care a shit about the RBI rules to make their money. What is the RBI doing for the protection of customers against these frauds.
