I dont know how did u mad epayment without getting the letter for full
settlement. And you were fooled again and paid 2000.
Anyways, dont pay a single penny now and send a notice to bank for blocking
ur savings account. The bank can be sued on this account.

Plese note the following:

1. When you have gone for final settlement ask the agency, person who has taken
your chq, cash for the letter of settlement. Is it written on your receipt that
the payment is against the final settlement?

2. It seems that the person who took your final settlement cash did not set it
against the final settlement and deposited it as a part payment for your
outstandings. That is why again bank demanded Rs. 2000/-. Recovery agents get
commission for recovering money from defaulters and they want account to go on &
on and do not want it to go for settlement. The recovery agent never presented
your case for final settlement. Do you have his ph no.?

3. Your motto should be to find that person.

4. All credit card companies have right to lien i.e. they can set aside money
from your bank account to credit card payment. It is written in the terms and
conditions and you have signed it while applying for the card. Also they send
terms and conditions along with your card. ( read point no. 6 of terms &
conditions)

5. Moral of the story- Never have a credit card of the bank in which you have
your account.

6. Your course of action -You approach the bank and settle the issue. Do not pay
any penny more and ask for credit of your blocked amount with interest

7. If above fails - approach banking ombudsman in your city or area whose
address could be taken from website or any bank branch .

I think first mistake on your part was to make a CASH Payment. Now no one would
give any money that too cash to settle Credit Card payment. In my opinion you
should have made the Cheque payment. Have you heard about the Police giving out
receipts for the fines from a fake Receipt Book?
So guys be sensible and make payments by cheques only. Atleast you have a track
to show this cheque was issued to whom and when was it paid and against what.

Not that above will help in any way to you, but theose were just my 2 cents.

This is Amazing and i also shocked becoz Recently i rcvd my HDFC Credit card and
till now i have not use it. Thang god I will be never use this card and will try
to surrender this immediately.

HDFC is frod. As per my advise you have to make a FIR Against Hdfc and help of
Media.

my brother was using hdfc card and used its limit 30000 now past 3 to 4 years the recovery agent of hdfc are threatening him on call . he have paid more than 70000 as the interest every mont they take some 1600 or 1800 as the int erest but tehe are not ready to convert the 30000 in easy installment they are not ready to settl3 . no prb what is done is done world never ends . but i m happy i stopped atlest 300 people to apply for hdfc creditcardv or loan . and above 130 people to not open an ac in hdfc . 0ver all i m happy i issued the frod pamplelets aganst hdfc in my area . and i have cheked it was succesfull because realy done because in the nearest branc of hdfc i found only 27 ac of pople of my area out of witch i meet 14 people personalyy and make tem understan and they it worked becz they started using theri hdfc ac as a temporay ac
now i will not stop i m suppose yo take the same step in neighbour hodd area
im happy bcz wht i have done was worth more than 70000 to hdfc bank
if u r also the victm of hdfc credit card so plz stop as many as people to not open an ac in hdfc

Why you guys are complaining about making installments or they cheated.. Moment you use credit card for shopping or leisure you should have thought that you have to pay amount with interest but careless peoples were soo busy in enjoying.. Now deal with it dont blame them if you cant pay their money if that is your prestige shoot money on their face and dont take cards from them but if you are not capable of paying that much you should not have spend before..
