if u want reason then please write a letter or email to bank and ask them to reason for rejection this is your right you can ask reason in writing.

as per RBI GUIDELINE CIRCULAR NO - RBI/2008-2009/100 BOD.FSD.BC.23/24.01.011/2008-09 DATED 23-07-2008 banks should convey in writing the main reason/reasons which in the opinion of the bank have led to the rejection of the credit card applications.

so u can ask the reason for rejection in writing from bank.

After several telephonic call i had applied for credit card at HDFC bank which was rejected by them without any reason , when i had informed to them and asked them why my credit card was rejected they throgh telephonicall y me that since you are an advocate we cant issue a credit card.

But leter on they informed me in writting that you have to do an Fixed Deposit withus . to there letter i informed them that i am int interested in doing fixed deoposite and you please tel me the reson of Credit Card Rejection.

I also forwarded a letter to them but till today no respons i have recived from them . i have filed the complainat in the consumer cout with regards to it and the said matter is fixed on 24th May 2010 for admission.

i had applied for a HDFC credit card a month back after i got an offer from them. There was no response for a month & After frequent follow ups with the customer care staffs i got the information that the application has been rejected due to mismatch of address. for which i filled and submitted the declaration form. Even after follow ups again there has been no response from the HDFC management. And everytime i call the customer care they say that the concerned person will call me for which i still have got no response. Request you to please respond and give the status.

Please note that i applied for HDFC Credit Card and got Reference No : 12060116762790N1. I got all verification done at my office and residence too. I got multiple calls at office too for verification.


Today got checked in HDFC Link showing track your card application. Found the reason as follows.

Status	DISAPPROVED
Remarks	DISAPPROVAL OF THE CREDIT CARD APPLICATION DOES NOT REFLECT IN ANYWAY ON YOUR CREDIT STANDING OR YOUR FINANCIAL STABILITY

We told to HDB Financial who called us for Credit Card and we never gone to HDFC for the same. Mamta, Executive called and we given all papers and verification also done positively.


I called Customer CARE and they are not giving any reason for Rejection. As per RBI GUIDELINE CIRCULAR NO - RBI/2008-2009/100 BOD.FSD.BC.23/24.01.011/2008-09 DATED 23-07-2008. HDFC Bank should give us reason or else we also file complaint in RBI and bank ombudsman.


We want Reason for Rejection as it will hit my CIBIL. My CIBIL was all clear and i got Home Loan too on same address. If we will not find reason for rejection, we will file case in Consumer court. It is my dignity which got effected and i am fully made up my mind for filing legal case against HDFC. I never had any credit card or liabilities from any bank in the past.


Please provide reason or else i will file case in consumer court.
