Dear sir,

I, Dr.Dalsingh Vankudoth, had SBI Credit Card in my possession for about two years till 2004. In year 2004 , made a settlement by paying sum of Rs. 14500.00 ( rupees fourteen thousand five hundred),at SBI office in Hyderabad. The card was destroyed by the executive at the same time, and was told that will receive settlement letter shortly, but never received any letter of settlement as well as monthly statements thereafter for six years, till year 2010 february. Therefore, I was in an impression that the card is cancelled , no dues remained and not collected any settlement letter.

Since about four months they have been sending me sms and giving calls to my mobile saying that I have a due of Rs. 8000.00 odd ( rupees eight thousand plus) which I never availed and aware of . Though I was in Hyderabad till 2006 december at the same address and shifted to Bhopal,MP for professional reasons, have not received any phone calls and statements regarding dues.

Sir,my humble request is to help me and suggest a solution to my problem and seek the clarification from the SBI credit cards division regarding following issues :

1. Why I was not informed about the pending dues in any form (mail or phone) which I owe towards credit card from 2004 to 2010 FEB ?

2. Do I need to pay the dues , generated after the card has been destroyed by the company executive , regarding which I was not informed for six years?

3. If at all a settlement letter is issued, how long one can retain ? For a lifetime? ( Because , they may ask to pay dues after 20 years of settlement, a duration of which is impossible to retain a small document )

Thanking you .
Regards.
