    Angry Harassment by HDFC Customer care female executive- 01143145100 (Rajouri,Delhi)

    Hello Sir/Madam,

    This is with regard to my credit card # 4346786000893064. I have been holding this card for more than 5 months. The repayment towards my card has been very prompt since then; however, due to my travelling Schedule that I was unable to Pay last month Bill and also 3 days back received call from Cutomer Care regarding Payment and i Said i will Pay soon and accepted I failed to make the payment on time. .Yesterday I Seen Bill which Received by me Very Late and found Rs. 500 is debited extra for Over Limit Usage of Rs. 2000/- Appx.Today, I received a call from HDFC Customer care No.-011-43145100 who was utmost rude on call and demanded the payment today itself She did not listen and was very harsh to me. I also told her that I would be complaining to RBI if she continues to talk this way and she was least bothered about it. She said " I don't care, you could complain to anyone you wish to" (these were the exact words used by her). I'm totally taken aback by the way these people from the bank treat their customers. I would sincerely appeal to whomsoever to look into this and such calls really disturb my mental stability. I would not hesitate to blame the bank for any mishap that I face due to rising level in my pressure.
    She Straight Forward Called Me Begger- Poor People and Lot of Bad Words like ( Tumhe to Hum Fraud Ghoshit Kar Denge, Aukat Nahi Hoti to Credit Card kyo lete ho) I was not interested for this Credit Card and why Bank approached me to Provide Credit Card

    PLEASE do something as I strongly feel that this is affecting my mental health. I wish to re-iterate here that most of the call center people from HDFC (collections) are not maintaining the standards when it comes to customer service.

    If this type of peoples you hire is really a cheap and Surprisingly very Bad Behaviour of BAnk

    Here's an interesting news-item for all those who have suffered harassment and humiliation at the hands of HDFC Bank Credit Card Customer Care Executives:

    Hisar, June 17
    A local court has summoned Aditya Puri, Managing Director of HDFC Bank, to appear in the court on July 17 in connection with a complaint filed against him on charges of extortion under Section 384 of the Indian Penal Code.

    The complainant, local resident Gagandeep Mehta, has alleged that he held an HDFC Bank credit card and had been making regular payments to the bank. However, he changed his residence after which he did not receive any monthly statements.

    The bank issued him a recovery notice for having failed to pay the minimum outstanding dues. The complainant said after receiving the notice he deposited Rs 11,000 on February 2 last year and sought duplicate bank statements from December, 2008, to March, 2009. The bank refused to supply the statements.

    He again deposited a total of Rs 14,000 on three occasions, but the statements were still not supplied.

    Later, the bank offered him a settlement for Rs 27,600. However, when he asked for details of transactions, the bank refused. Instead he was issued a legal notice asking him to pay Rs 47,005. He alleged that he was threatened and abused by bank officials.

    The complainant then filed a complaint in the court of Sunita Gupta, Judicial Magistrate, Ist Class, who has summoned Puri on July 17 to stand trial.


    Note: Offence of extortion, punishable under Section 384 of I.P.C., is non-bailable, and carries a sentence of upto three-year imprisonment.
