I had a StanChart bank card earlier in 2005, the card num is 4129 XXXX XXXX 4632. This was stolen and I submitted a letter to the branch in connaught place Delhi to inform this after calling the helpline. They did not do anything about that and also started harassing me for payment...I did not pay, but finally in 2010 i decided to close the account by setting this once and for all and stopping all the harassment done by all collection agents. A settlement amount of 11230.00 was agreed and I paid the agency BIRD ASSOCIATES, CHANDER NAGAR GHAZIABAD BY paying Rs 11000.00 by cheque(ABN Amro #483940) and Rs 230 by cash. This collection person Satvinder (Ph: 9212793831) deposited the cheque to the bank but did not deposit the Rs 230.00. When I called the customer care about the final settlement letter after 60 days, they said that settlement was cancelled because the full amount wasn't received. They have received the 11000.00 only. They are refusing to listen to them and the collection person is also turning blind eye towards this matter. I have registered a complaint with the bank (Comp # 306752/E01) on 24th May but nobody contacted me to discuss this. I am not going to pay StandardChart a penny more than what I already paid and I am not responsible for the behavior of their collection agents.
I am about to file a formal complaint with the consumer court for the harassment and the financial damage due to this appearing on my CIBIL report as an unpaid amount. Before that I am posting this so that the concerned authorities read and do the needful to close the account.
